I am also hoping to get into UNLV. Can you give me any advice about the application process. I've taken the LSAT 3 times with a 147, 148 and last and final score to be out within a week. You certainly do have your hands full. Congratulations on having the determination and guts to pursue a career in law.

Thanks for the info and the encouragement. Can you email me the Asst Deans name and email? I would like to contact admissions and discuss the possibility of being considered in-state if my husband gets orders to LV. Nothing official yet, but it's looking good.

At this point I am just trying to decide if I would rather live in Vegas or New York. It is really hard to pass up the $ at UNLV, so I will probably end up there. However, I worry about attending such a young program. I am going to try to visit soon. Have you been to the law school? What did you think? Good luck w/ waitlists and I'm rooting for you to be in at UNLV!

More waiting isn't the best but ...

Good luck on your waitlists. At least you're still in the running.

I wish you the best of luck in this crazy numbers process. I too am hoping to get a seat in the entering fall class. Unfortunately I also have been waitlisted. My LSAT sucked, but I thought for sure graduating with 2 degrees in four years with over a 3.5 would help. Unfortunately schools just place way too much weight on test scores. Regardless I wish you the best of luck and hopefully we both will be attending Boyd this fall.

Congratulations!!!

Man that is awesome to see someone get off the waitlist and accepted. I still hold out hope as dim as things may appear. Oh well, if not law school this fall, Grad school this spring. Good luck to you!

CONGRATS!

on getting in off UNLV's waitlist. I will also be attending there PT. Will you be day or eve? I will be eve. I am doing pretty much exactly what you say you did not want to do - i.e. quitting my job, selling my house, and moving - in order to attend. Actually, I am likely to get atransfer with my current employer, so that part is not so bad. In any case, I am really excited about going to UNLV. I feel very comfortable with my choice of law school and can't wait to get started. There are only 94 days until orientation week! anyway congrats again. email me if you want to network. Peace and good luck.

I went to an admitted students open house in early April, and was given a tour by an alum. Funny thing is that I was out there last weekend looking at homes and I open the paper and see her picture in the engagement announcements. It was pretty funny and I felt like I should send her a card or something. Never too early to network, right? Anyweay, the feel was very casual (at the open house) and I liked that. I had a very good chat with the Prof in charge of the Juvenile Justice Clinic. She was very open and approachable. Everytime I have called the school, the admissions people have been awesome. I have had to call frequently because of various things like getting my transcripts to them and immunization records etc. They have always been extremely nice and have made me feel welcome. Indeed, Boyd is a smal school, and I like that. I also like that it is the only ABA school in one of the fastest growing regions of the country. I am looking forward to moving to the area. I just have to finish some minor things at my current home in order to put it on the market. I am hoping for a quick sale, then a quick buy in the Green Valley/Whitney Ranch area. I've found some really nice homes there, in what appear to be decent neighborhoods, so I hope the timing works out for me.
