Additional info & updates

4/28 - decided on chicago. they offered me a scholarship after initially denying on my first request for reconsideration.

2/17 - first round of withdrawals: texas, washu, and illinois. it's hard to turn down those scholarships, though

2/10 - phone call from chicago - accepted!!

2/8 - phone interview with cornell, i think it went well

2/7 - awarded the Scholar in Law scholarship from Wash U

2/1 - email from cornell requesting an interview. i guess i'm one of the 150 they (randomly?) selected. not a big fan of interviews, i'm so awkward on the phone.

1/31 - chicago is still under review... they said 6-10 weeks from when it was complete which was 12/1, so it should be either this week or next week. i'm still holding out for it since it's my top pick, even though i don't have incredible odds.

1/21 - got an email from HLS saying my application is on "hold". i wasn't really expecting to get in, but at least i'm not an auto-reject!

1/7 - in at penn. 1 for 1 for the ivy league so far, we'll see how long that stays...

1/6 - in at michigan. ann arbor seems like a nice place

12/23 - in at duke. great christmas present. if kyrie irving were staying it would be very tempting...

12/20 - "interview" with Dean Hernandez at BYU. told i'm getting an offer with a "substantial" scholarship.

11/15 - accepted at UVA, with a scholarship offer.

Good to see another BYU applicant on the radar. That's an impressive GPA for an Econ major at BYU. Well done. I wish you the best with the rest of your cycle!

Yeah, I looked at your profile a few days ago and was way impressed--I thought it was cool to see another local econ major. Grats on the many acceptances and scholarships. Where are you leaning these days with the school options?

UVA

I haven't decided yet. I was really expecting to hear back from Columbia, NYU, and perhaps Stanford by now. If I get into those schools I might not go check out UVA (only a limited amount of time/money to spend at ASWs). Time will tell I suppose.

Thank you and congrats to you too! It looks like we're having really similar cycles with our identical numbers (and they pretend they care about more than numbers :) Good luck on Chicago, I think you're in great shape! Also, I am jealous of your UVA scholarship... I absolutely loved the place when I visited and am really hoping to get a scholarship offer eventually (I have seen a few other November/December admits who received scholarship notices later).

Wow, excellent job on being accepted to your top choice! Congratulations! You still considering your other options or are you set on Chicago?

You're my hero. No matter how bad Brandon Davies ruined our lives, you're still my hero.
