Additional info & updates

I had to create a new profile becuase of a session problem with LSN. My old profile was ezvet09.

I started appling late in the cycle so I think that will hurt me at some schools. I'm definitely not happy with my LSAT score, but I really want to go to law school year so it is what it is. I have a lot of soft factors and some good LOR's. I've been in the military basically since high school with lots of experiences. I applying to a lot of schools, hopefully I can get in somewhere.

3/20- I got an offer from Appalachian School of Law to participate in their PASO program. Not sure if I will accept, depends on how the rest of my cycle turns out.

3/21- rejected at Batlimore, not sure how I feel about this one. its the flatout rejection of my cycle.

3/23- rejected at William & Mary, not shocked by this one, but man I hope things get better quick!

3/24- the TSU application checker said a decision had been made and a letter was mailed. Then I got an email from the financial aid department with a form attached that I needed to fillout and send back to the school. I do know if that means I was accepted. I guess I will just have to wait for the snail mail letter.

3/26- I got a decision letter via email from John Marshall, it said my application was reviewed and placed on hold. I was not yet accepted, rejected or waitlisted, but they would let me know there final decision. That seemed a little weird, but hey it not a rejection and at this point I'm OK with that!

3/28- Accepted at TSU. I the letter came today via snail mail. My first acceptance of the cycle. It feels good, but more importantly now I at least know I am going to law school!!!

4/1-Walisted at South Carolina. I wouldn't mind going there. I lived in Columbia, SC for 4 years. Well I guess I have to wait til the summer to hear from them. Anyone not planning to attend please withdrawn to make room for us other poor souls.

4/7- Rejected at American. I got the letter today not too suprised but every rejection sting little.

4/9 - Got an email for Widener say a decision had been made and to check the website. I wasn't sure what to expect. but when open the status checker it said "Good news, you have been accepted for admission to the Harrisburg campus.

Then I checked the mail and there was a letter from Charlotte. I had not heard anything from them since I applied. I was starting to think something happen to my application. The letter said I was accepted as a 1L student with a $5,000 scholarship. I'm kinda torn on this one. I grew up in Charlotte and love the city, but the school's tuition would still be more than TSU's even with the scholarship and I'm still a little worried about its accreditation. Anyone with any thoughs about Charlotte Law please let me know.

4/10 - Just came back from a visit to South Carolina. I had been to the campus many times when I lived in Columia, SC, but I wanted to show an interest and hopefully work my way off the waitlist. The tour went well. If anyone wants details just let me know.

4/11- I didn't check online until I came back from SC. When I did, I had received email fron FCSL say I was accepted and the letter and scholarship information would be mailed next week.

I was also accepted at Valparaiso via the online status checker.

This is great! Not only do I know I going to law school, but I have options! I really wasn't expecting much this cycle with my LSAT score. Now, I'm just waiting on a few more schools before I make my decision. NCCU seems to be taking the longest and that was one of the first places I applied.

4/20 - received email from Akron congratulating me on my acceptance followed by an email informing me that I would receive a $14,000 scholarship for the upcoming year. This along with the new in-state rules for veterans and my GI Bill, covers the entire cost of tuition. So this is pretty much a full ride at Akron!
Just checked the mail and found I was accepted at Cooley today via snail mail. Letter came in large brown envelope. I must say, my cycle is turning out better than I expected and whlie I am excited with the acceptances I have received, the waiting for my remaining schools is killing me! I know it is a long process, but I don't understand how some school can take so much longer than others.

4/21 Letter from Maryland. "Thank you for your interest, but we cannot offer you admissions in our upcoming class." Rejected

4/22 Received offical acceptance package from UAkron.

4/24 UDC status checker changed from "complete" to "decision rendered"

4/27- I got an email from NCCU saying my application is complete. What is going on with NCCU? Seven weeks for my application to go complete!!! Man! They were one of the first schools I applied. Then said it would be another eight week for a decision!!! Wow! I understand it is a long process, but waiting four months for decision seems a little extreme, especially when I have received decisions from almost all the schools I applied to after them.

4/28- received two letters today, one regular size envelope from UDC saying I was being placed on the waitlist and a large envelope from OCU with acceptance letter and viewbook. I thought I would be in at UDC. The admission process is so unpredictable.

4/29 - Rejected at Campbell via online status checker

05/11- I took a little vacation it was definitely good to get away. Just checking the mail everyday was starting to get stressful. I came back to two acceptance letters which is always good. One was from St. Thomas University and the other from Phoenix Law, but also two rejections at St. Mary%u2019s and Howard. So it looks like my cycle is almost over just waiting to hear from NCCU.

Congrats on Texas Southern! I have a friend who is a 1L there now and she loves it! It's about time another 145er got accepted there! :)

Congrats on your acceptances so far! I would lean away from Charlotte. I have a buddy who is a 2L at Elon and he tells me that they get a lot of transfers from Charlotte for a few reasons but the main one being that tuition is just way to expensive. Combined with the fact that they don't have an alumni base I would suggest another school. Good luck on your decision!

Waitlisted at USC. Nicely done. We have similar scores. What is your first choice? I look forward to hearing from you.

Good job on Valpo. Are you considering it? I was waitlisted there.

I hope you get into USC! It's a good school. I don't quite get TSU. They sent those financial aid forms out to a few other students and then rejected them. Now I'm scared! I just got another email yesterday (after I got my waitlist notification)saying that i had some missing financial aid information and it was something about an admissions status update or something like that. I'm wondering why I am Hearing so much from them about forms they need and emails about financial aid if I'm only waitlisted! I guess its a good thing; just don't want to get too excited and then get rejected. Have you heard anyone tell you anything similar about tsu?

i am definitely going to be sending in a letter of interest on monday. it will have only been a little over a week since I got waitlisted but it will probably take another week for the letter to get there and I want to send a letter so they can have a tangible hard copy. Hopefully I will get accepted. I'm trying to keep the faith due to my low test scores and three recent rejections. It must be nice to KNOW that you are going to law school! Congratulations! I'm sure you'll do great.

I concur with you!

I felt the exact same way about my cycle due to my lsat score. Although I got many rejections, I hung in there and got one waitlist that I am proud of (american) and a scholarship from another. Congratulations to you and I hope you are happy with watever decision you make!

NCCU

LOL @ your post on NCCU. I got the same email today and almost blew a gasket. I applied at the beginning of March...I couldn't believe it took them that long just to process my file either. But apparently that's just how things are at Central. I've talked to current students and even people who work there and everything at Central is slooooow-moooo-tion. I was really interested in their program because my dad graduated from there but the inefficiency of their admissions process has really turned me off! Anyway, CONGRATS on your acceptances thus far and good luck with the rest of your cycle :-)

unpredictable indeed

Congrats on OCU. Nicely done there. I am wondering where my UDC letter is. I think that they honestly lost my application. I applied in December, and I did not hear anything from them. I did not even hear that my application was complete. It is quite strange. This waitlist at UDC shows me that this process does not make any sense. I applied for a summer program at Texas Tech. This program was supposed to be designed for disadvantaged students. I applied in September. I thought that I had a fighting chance. Two days ago, I was rejected. This process is definitely a game. It is like fishing my friend. You are right. It is unpredictable. Are you going to remain on the waitlist?

Nice Job!

Congratulations..

I had to check your profile because I saw you were waitlisted at UDC with a 3.4 (probably because you applied toward the deadline)/ What was the reason you waited so long to apply? Thanks

Awesome! You have just made my day. I haven't logged on since I took the LSAT and scored a 144. I couldn't bring myself to apply with that score. Our backgrounds are very similar and we are interested in the same schools. You have given me hope for the next application cycle. Best of luck!

Congrats
