Additional info & updates

11/2 - acceptance and scholarship in the same letter from Baylor.

12/1 - acceptance from Pitt with scholarship info to follow in the next 3 weeks. Will update.

12/16 - acceptance from Temple in a business-sized envelope. $12,000/yr merit scholarship renewable for 3 years contingent upon remaining in upper 1/2 of class.

12/18 - rejection letter from Cornell. Not a surprise. It would have been cool to get in but I didn't really want to go there badly or expect to get in, so it's not a huge disappointment.

12/20 - scholarship info from Pitt came. $14k/yr for 3 years and some applications for additional scholarships(public interest, etc.). I won't hear about them for a while but I'll update.

1/24 - apparently, I've been accepted at Villanova. I only found this out because they sent some info (2 letters in one envelope dated 2 weeks apart...) that made it seem like I had been admitted, but hadn't heard anything so I emailed them. Short, curt email response said an acceptance letter was mailed December 8th, which I definitely never received. No clue what other important information I'm lacking from them.

3/27 Waitlisted at William and Mary. Cream-colored envelope. Disappointing but not hugely surprising. I think a rejection would have been easier to deal with than more waiting.

3/27 Starting to panic at the thought of making a decision. Applied to Richmond and GMU at the last minute, fighting the urge to apply at dozens of other places just to have lots of choices.

4/2 - Called CWRU to check on my application, since it's past the date they said they would notify and I haven't heard a thing. They said my app is in committee and "hopefully" I'll hear this week but no promises. From the look of things here I'm definitely not the only one in this position. Taking a tour 4/3.

4/10 - In at Richmond via phone call from Dean Rahman. $4,000/yr renewable scholarship notification via email. Not tempting enough to pick over Wake and the others, so I'm withdrawing.

4/12 - Called Case again to check on my app. Still in committee, should hear "any day." Which was what they said the week before. Whatever. I really liked the campus but this is ridiculous.

4/14 - Went to see Wake Forest and I just don't think it's quite right for me. I hope I don't regret this later, but I'm withdrawing.

Sent in a seat deposit to Pitt, but am far from making a definite decision. Waiting on decisions from Case and Mason at this point, plus WL'd at WM.

4/19 - Waitlisted at George Mason. I can't say I'm surprised considering I sent my app in sooo late. Very friendly letter. I'm not actually that interested in GMU so I probably won't join the waitlist. The deadline to join the waitlist (at least in my case) was 4/30 in case anyone is curious.

4/19 - Email from Pitt offering $2,000 more per year, bringing it to $16,000 a year, renewable for all 3 years.

5/4 - Called Case to update some of my contact info. At the end of the conversation, the person goes "You're under review now, are you still interested in Case?". No lady, I spend my time calling places I don't care about to let them know how to contact me. WTF?!

5/7 - Richmond ups their offer to 10k/yr despite the fact that I withdrew my app a month ago.

5/7 - Case acceptance via email with formal letter and scholarship to follow in snail mail in a few days.

5/24 - $13,000/yr renewable scholarship offer from Case. I have until June 9th to decide on them, but my second seat deposit is coming up at Pitt before then so I want to make my decision....

7/19 - Pitt it is!

They are just about the worst place in terms of timliness...I must have called and badgered them a half a dozen times before I got any action on my application then finally on my scholarship...constant phone calls to them could help you along if you want to go there

...I just realized you sent your in back in October...that really sucks...I guess there are things around the Case Campus to really like...the surrounding neighborhoods I should say...but the campus itself didn't wow me either...maybe its cuz it has a fairly substantial road running right through the middle of it

Not gonna lie, the living situation at OSU is one of the bigger factors that contributed to my choosing it over Case AND my choosing not to wait on other schools waitlists...I've been to Williamsburg once when I was younger, but I only saw the touristy parts of town, never the W&M campus...the weather will almost certainly be better than Ohio though...lucky

Hey, it seems that we are among several people on LSN to receive the same scholarship from Case at the same time. Are you planning on attending? I'm not sure if I am but I am very seriously considering it.
