Additional info & updates

2.12.07 - Good news from Miami today! I got an email saying the big packet would be placed in the mail today. I am breathing a sigh of relief b/c I was beginning to get concerned and the wait is finally over.

2.16.07 - Acceptance letter from Miami inviting me to ASW and asking for a $300 deposit. It was a regular size envelope, no scholarship info, Woulda freaked out if I hadn't already gotten an email. Looked suspiciously like a "thank you for applying..." note. I'm just happy I'm in somewhere, waiting for the next set of emails / letters to arrive.

2.25.07 - Out at Duke. Small envelope, wasn't terribly surprised, but I was hopeful. Hopes have been dashed.

2.27.07 - Email from Rutgers saying big packet will arrive in a couple days. Not too surprised, they've had my app since Nov. I figured if they were holding on this long, it would likely be better for me.

At this point, I don't know if I'd choose Rutgers over Miami, but I'll have to see. Maybe I should take a trip down to Jersey and check out the scene...more to follow.

2-27-07 - In @ Loyola Chicago. Got a phone call from the Admissions Office saying packet would be mailed today. Wow! I'm kinda surprised, and excited about the options now. God is good!

3-6-07: Unofficially out @ Brooklyn Law. Called to check the status and they said a decision was sent out 2 days ago. Because of LSN, I've discovered that acceptances are done via email. No email = No luck. :-( I am slightly saddened because 1) I thought I had a decent shot 2) BLS would have been preferable to Miami given I have an established network in NYC already. But then life happens...so you have to learn to tie a knot and keep pushing forward.

3.6.07- Out at UChicago. I wonder why it took them so long.

3-7-07 - Officially out at Brooklyn. Small letter envelope.

O - U - T, spells, OUT, OUT, OUT. 3.9.07 - when it rains it pours. No love from HLS, CLS, or Loyola (L.A.). Funny thing is, I'm not even upset, but daydreaming about the 70 degree weather in Miami when I should be writing my Thesis. Oh, well, I already have a degree...

3.19.07 - Waistlisted @ Cardozo via snail mail, ltr dated 3-14-07. Quite surprising in fact. I was expecting a flat out rejection. I guess now, I can begin the supplication process of begging profusely and appealing to their sense of pity for dear 'ole me. I'd much rather attend Cardozo over Miami...

in other news...still waiting to hear from St. John's, and perhaps a miracle from Cornell. Time will tell. Made progress on thesis - completed a 1pg outline.

4.07.07 - In at Northeastern via snail mail. No $$. More than likely I'm not attending, not b/c of lack of $$, but for other reasons.

I need to mail my Miami deposit.

4.16.07 - out at BU, snail mail delivered the news.

4-25-07 - No love from St Johns via snail mail. They offered an option that is not really an option, thus, I am officially out at this school.

This pretty much seals the deal...I plan to take a year off and retake the LSAT. Life happens.

I actually received the packet in the mail first. Then a few days later someone called me to tell me I was admitted.

So you are planning on retaking and applying again next cycle? What was your score? Rutgers - Newark seems like it could have been a good fit. Newark is only 20 minutes from the city via NJ Transit. If your still check LSN, I would be interested to know what happened.

LSAT?

what was your LSAT? NUSL is my first choice so I'm very curious - I am also URM.
