I decided to create a profile on here because there aren't that many self-identified African Americans on here for this cycle. I hope that in allowing transparency in my admissions process, it will encourage other AA or URM applicants to apply regardless of their hard numbers. You are more than your GPA & LSAT!!

Update [3/2/12]: Waitlisted @ UPenn today...

[3/1/12]: Deciding between a lot of debt at Michigan and lesser amount of loans at Howard...still waiting on 4 law schools and Kennedy School of Government. At this point, I am tired of thinking of all the possibilities!

[2/24/12]: Withdrew from UVA & Northeastern last week. Rejected at Harvard today, not really feeling bad about it though.

[2/10/12]: Waitlisted at Univ. of Chicago today...gotta do some researching before I decide to write a LOCI or not. (Edit: eventually withdrew from UofC -- not for me)

[2/8/12]: Received a rejection letter from Yale today.... Still thanking God for His goodness! Yale must not have been the school for me ;-) 5 decisions down; 6 to go! Signed up for ASW in Michigan and Virginia...really need to see the schools to help my decision making process...To everyone out there still waiting, keep your head up! The good news is yet to come :)

[1/27/12]: Spoke with Director of Admissions at University of Virginia today; they admitted me! At this point, I'm daring to believe that NYU or Harvard will accept me as well! Trusting in God for whatever His plans are :)

[1/26/12]: After a month of excruciating silence, I got two very nice emails! One from Howard Law, offering me admission and a $22500 scholarship. The other from the Director of Admissions at Univ. of Virginia, asking me to call him to talk about my application! God is faithful! I plan to call UVA tomorrow on my lunch break at work. :)

[12/28/11]: Got a envelope from UMichigan today, they accepted me for their Summer start class 2012! Speechless and thanking God! 2 down, still waiting on 9 more schools!

[12/16/11]: Got an email saying that a decision was made by Northeastern! I got in! They also called to congratulate me! I'm so encouraged and excited to see what other offers I get!

[12/06/11]:
Woke up this morning and saw that my required letters of recommendation are in! Whoop! Now I just play the waiting game...

[11/21/11]:
Made my PS more focused and sent out most of my applications on 11/20, application isn't complete because I'm waiting for letters of recommendation(!), but it's out of my control. So I wait. Will send in Yale's and a few others later.
