Extra Curricular Information

"I've learned one thing and that's to quit worrying about stupid things. You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember the class time, but you'll remember the time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out with your friends on a Tuesday when you have a paper due on Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink until sunrise. The work never ends, but college does..."

Extras = Good but not anything out of the ordinary. Applied straight out of undergrad.

HLS Class of 2009!!!

Additional info & updates

Dec 10 - E-mail from Toby Stock, Asst. Dean of HLS admissions, about an upcoming phone call. Kind of wanted to turn off my cell phone and hide in the bushes for a few months. I counted this as my complete; the official notice didn't come till the 16th, after the phone call.

Dec 12 - Phone call. Very nervous.

Dec 16 - Accepted to NYU (big vanilla envelope) and UVA (small biege envelope, missed call two days earlier). Yay!

Dec 18 - Toby Stock call, this time the good one. Yaaaay!

Jan 23- Withdrew from UVA. It is a fantastic law school, but, to be completely honest, I don't think any amount of money would entice me to turn down Harvard for UVA. Might as well open up the seat for someone else.

Jan 25- Beige packet from Columbia. I was bringing a date home when my roomate handed it to me too... suave = )

Feb 14- Stanford, Yale, and University of Chicago will now see my new-and-improved 3.85 (the first report listed a 3.83).

Feb 28- Yield Protect? (I am somewhat paranoid about the possible role this LSN account could have played in the decision...)

March 22- Not Yield Protect here : ) Not unexpected either.

April 16- Stanford made what could have been a hard decision a much easier one; I have absolutely no desire to spend any more time in law school application purgatory. Withdrawing from NYU, Columbia, and Stanford. Depositing at Harvard.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

The Tobemeister's pretty chill, I would try not to sweat the phone call if I were you (although it's probably impossible) Feel free to join us on the LSD phone call thread! :)

Sweep?

probably not. the silence from stanford doesn't bode well for my stanford (or yale) admits, although its possible I'll be estatic either way though!

odds...

yeah i also am worried about the lack of stanford response (i went complete the day after you) maybe i am just not special enough for them :( oh well i will just have to let my harvard admit console me. :) anyway you have some nice admits yourself and i hope that you will have some good news (if history repeats itself) from toby on tuesday! i will keep an eye on you ;)

Congratulations, and two quick questions
Friday, December 31 2004 at 07:00 PM

Hey, congratulations on the acceptance! I have two questions for you though. It would be awesome if you could answer them. I got a W on my transcript (non-punitive, non GPA counting,) Did you have any Ws on your transcript, or do you know anybody that has one or more and will it affect my acceptance into Harvard, Yale, etc? (Considering I get a high GPA and a high LSAT? (E-mail me or leave a message with the answer in my profile) Also, if you dont mind, could you tell me how you prepared for the LSAT?
