Extra Curricular Information

I am not exactly sure what the difference is between waitlisted and deferred. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Any idea what effect a dwi would have on admissions?

A little confused, On the US News School rankings you have Top Tier, Tier 3 and Tier 4. Then, on this web site I have seen numerous references to Tier 2 schools. What is the story behind the disparity and what qualifies as a Tier 2 school?

WL & Deferred

Deferred means that the school will get back to you about the decision by a certain date. WL means they might get back to you, eventially (often if one of their accepted students says they will matriculate and then doesn't). Deferred is better than WL because you are still in the running.

dui in illinois (03), plus our numbers are almost identical. I've been told that a dui/dwi conviction doesn't levy much of an impact.. we just have to disclose it because we have to disclose it to take the bar.. if there are any inconsistancies in reporting/criminal records, then they may preclude ya from taking the bar... As long as your dwi is the extent of your criminal history, i think you should be fine.. i was worried about it for a while, but from everything I've heard.. it doesn't really hurt your chances of admission.... though if someone has a 162/3.34 w/ no dwi... I believe that they would get the nod... sucks... but what's done is done.. my dui was 3.5 yrs ago.. damn youthful indiscretion.. i hope the adcoms see it that way as well.. anyway, hoped that helped.. Best of luck! and Congrats on Akron and RWU

Were you offered any money at RWU? Your numbers are nice. Just curious.

Congrats on the scholarship! It's a nice honor. I totally know what you mean though about indecision... schools can't decide who to let in and we cant decide where to go! I hope the whole thing works itself out... Good luck! Let me know what you end up doing.

Akron

I'm actually going to visit Akron this Wednesday I might be leaning towards Kansas.. but if Iowa accepts me, I'll probably go there
