Additional info & updates

4/17: $5k scholarship renewable all 3 years w/ "C+" status

3/27: $10K scholarship from St. Mary's, non-renewable. At this point I'm leaning toward CalWestern or Willamette (if I can handle Oregon's weather).

3/17: Phone calls from Florida State & Lewis and Clark- I'm in! Also, talked w/ a Cal Western adcom today: I received a Faculty Scholarship: full tuition + books the first year, and half tuition the last 2 years providing I maintain some GPA.

3/16: Received admit to St. Mary's via Snail Mail. Talked to add com, was told scholarship info would come in a few weeks.

3/11: Received Cal Western acceptance. Letter mentioned scholarship commitee will contact me in 4-6 weeks, but seat deposit is due in 3 weeks. Not sending the deposit unless I get word I'll be getting substantial $$.

3/10: Recieved my official acceptance letter to FCU. $12K/yr scholarship.

3/09: In at Florida Coastal. Received a pretty envelope w/ a brief congrats letter (first sentence comments on my admission; every other sentence focuses on all they have to offer), and a "view book" complete w/ application to apply: as if I hadn't already applied! No "official" acceptance letter, no word of scholarship- so confused!

2/28: All applications are complete! Can't beat that feeling!

2/25: In at Willamette w/ $15k/year scholarship (renewable for all 3 years).

2/21: In at San Diego. With the high tuition most likely won't be going there, but it's nice to know I'm going somewhere.

Congrats on acceptances and scholarships. Where are you leaning? I have a buddy who loves it at San Diego -- expensive though.

Cal Western

Well, as it stands now, I've sent in 2 deposits; one for Cal Western and one for USD. At this point however, I'm leaning towards Cal Western. I've had some heated debates with my brother who feels that USD is a better choice. But after visiting both schools, my impression is that USD has nothing more to offer me than a name. Now I will admit that a schools reputation can open certain doors, but I'm trying to decide at what cost? I've been to Cal Western twice and I've enjoyed it each time I've gone. Their relatively new library is very nice. I could see myself comfortably spending hours on end in there studying! haha. I'm interested in their IP concentration as I'm hoping to work in that arena after law school. And everyone I've spoken to, from students to professors to administrators, have all been very accessible and friendly. Oh, and one last note, Cal Western's career services office seems very informative and helpful in helping graduates land jobs afterwards. I suppose they have to work harder to get graduates interviews given Cal Western's "lower" reputation. But you can decide if that's important to you. In any event, let me know what you're leaning towards! Take care and congrats! -Michael-

OU

Do you have any intrest in attending OU? With your L&C, SD, and FSU acceptances, it seems like you have much stronger options. If you would not go regardless, please withdraw.

RE: Additional Scholarship

I was leaning toward CWSL until UofA gave me a scholarship- now, although I can't wait to get out of this state (did my undergrad at ASU & it's just not the place for me), I'm leaning toward UofA- good school, cheap, & I can always transfer...

which football team will you be cheering

not the place for you...any particular reason you care to share? in-state tution and some money is a very nice combo
