you Pmed me on LSD, but the website is down at the moment. I have a 3.4 gpa and a nice 145 to go with that. So FSU slammed with the rejection really quick. Too quick really. So quick that it makes me think they are trying to be numbers gods so they can try to compete with UF. As far as their law program, instate tuition is so cheap thats why it has become more competitive. I don't know much about their reputation, but if you want to practice in Florida it is a good degree. I feel some what biased because I am a gator and FSU rejected me quicker than UF. But if you have numbers that are even close to mine, FSU would be a great school to go to. Whats your situation?

I'm happy with my decision, and that's all that matters.

BigRig, (Man that's a great handle!). No, I didn't do a thing to get off the waitlist. I was actually tee'd off at FSU since they had my file for so long and had done absolutely nada. While they are certainly a frontrunner, I still can't say for sure where I'm going. I'm planning a visit in late April to MS,KY,OH, and Fla. I also agree with "bri" - FSU is very strong in Florida. There are now ten law schools in that state, and it's #2. Because I'm a "foreigner" I will never qualify for in-state tuition (can't register to vote), and so I have to finance my education with my savings, which will be zero by the time I finish LS. Good luck with everything! Villa is a solid and laudable admit!

Whoa, that was quick! Congrats! Are you going?

It feels good to be nearing the end of this process. I know what you mean about facing insurmountable odds! I will probably end up @ Richmond. I have mixed feelings toward Pitt. I'd be lying if I said I still didn't want to go there, but I am very disappointed they waitlisted me.

To be honest, I don't really plan on going to FSU. I have heard great things about the school, but I don't really want to live in Tallahassee. I also plan on studying media law, so living in California or Miami would be a better option for me. As for the scholarship with the acceptance letter I received forms to apply for merit and need based scholarships. But, I also called to double check on financial aid and they were very nice on the phone, so I would try calling, if you are serious about going there. Good luck with everything!

I'm thinking CW

Unless Denver comes through for me w/ some $$, I'm most likely heading to Cal Western. My main concerns are location (has to be warm & sunny!) and cost- I don't want my debt to be too ridiculous when I graduate!

I\\\'m picking UF over FSU because I\\\'ll have two degrees from here when I go to law school, and applying for jobs it\\\'s going to look odd that I left Gainesville to go to FSU when UF\\\'s law school has a better reputation. So mainly, I chose UF because I feel like UF has the better reputation which will be helpful for getting a job later since I\\\'ll be living in Florida. My scholarship was merit-based, but I did have to apply separately. They send you the invitation.

As of right now, yes, but it's so hard to know because I'm still waiting on NINE schools. UNC and Tulane are my #1 and #2 choices, but who knows if I'm getting in... I'd like to visit FSU before I decide too.

Tulane waitlisted me today so I'm about to call FSU to schedule a visit. Glad to hear you like the school so much! Actually, it would only cost me about $7,000 more to go to Tulane. According to my math FSU will be $82,740 for three years (nonresident, no scholarship) and Tulane will be $89,430 for three years. I'll see if FSU can fit me in next week. :)

Probably Not

I will only go to CSU if I don't get into any of the schools that I haven't heard back from or am deferred or waitlisted at. Hopefully this means no!

I really, really like FSU. The building and all of the facilities are really, really nice. I also like how the law school is set apart from the main campus; LSU Law is in the middle of everything else, and I never thought about how much I didn't like that until today. All of the people there were really friendly too. Tallahassee seems like a great town and I could easily live there for three years. Looks like a great place to be.

As of right now, I will be attending FSU. I'll probably send them their seat deposit this week. I could still jump ship if one of the seven schools I haven't heard from lets me in, or if I escape from one of the five waiting lists I'm on. But I'm not going to count on anything, and I'd be glad to go there.

Hey - have you gotten anything in the mail from FSU lately? I mailed my seat deposit and that confirmation letter thing over a month ago, and I would have expected them to send some sort of letter, catalog, something since then, but I haven't gotten a thing.

Tallahassee

I was supposed to go there last weekend to look at houses/condos, but the real estate agent called at the last minute and said she didn't think it would be worth the trip, because she couldn't get access to several properties due to the holiday weekend. So I'll have to plan a trip sometime in the next couple of weeks... she faxed me about 20 pages worth of places so it doesn't look like there's a shortage of housing, but I haven't actually looked at anything yet. I e-mailed the FSU Law Admissions lady today just to make sure that all of my attendance-related stuff made it there (got an out-of-office reply and won't hear back until Monday).

Thanks Bro

I've got to say you've been one of the bets people I've met in this crazy process. They say lawyers are bastards, you me and a few others I know prove that a misnomer. anyways bro enjoy FSU and all it has to offer, it should be a great 3 years for you. I'll be seeing you gameday more thena couple time for sure.

Hey - thanks for the offer earlier; I don't really use LSD though (I visited occasionally during the admissions process but I don't have a user name or anything). Anyway, I went to Tallahassee this weekend and made an offer on a condo this morning, and the owner countered it just a few minutes ago and I am taking the counteroffer. It is on the very northwestern edge of town, but the road it is on is a 10-minute straight-shot to downtown. It's Camellia Gardens off of Old Bainbridge (camelliagardens.org).
