Additional info & updates

Scholarships are listed as cumulative amounts over three years.

Fee waiver at GMU, WashU, UCLA, W&M, Illinois, and Vanderbilt.

12/14: First acceptance from Notre Dame by mail with $14K/year on the table. Nice big envelope, glossy materials, and a bumper sticker. Follow-up letter offering up to $300 travel stipend.

12/17: In at Wash U by email. Offering to defray $200 of travel costs to visit.

12/18: In at Ohio State by phone.

12/19: In at George Mason by phone.

12/20: In at GW regular decision (applied ED for the full scholarship) by email. Subsequent package in the mail included a handwritten note from the dean that mentioned a couple things from my personal statement and encouraged me to attend. Nice, GW!

12/21: In at Cincinnati by email.

1/7: Notified of retroactive fee waiver by Vanderbilt. I don't quite get what's in it for them, but much appreciated! Go Vandy!

1/14: In at UIUC and REJECTED at Boalt. It's my first one, and expected, but it still hurts a little.

1/16: In at Georgetown part-time program. Also applied to the full-time program, but the acceptance letter makes no mention of it. I'm not sure how to interpret that.

1/18: In at Boston College.

1/24: $25K/year grant from Wash U!

1/26: Rejected from UVA; received $10K/year scholarship offer from Cincinnati.

1/28: Received letter from Northwestern placing me on "hold." It was a top choice for me. Bummer.

1/29: In at Cornell! Woo-hoo!

2/6: Waitlisted at Penn.

2/19: $10,000/year scholarship from Ohio State

2/25: Rejected from Columbia. Letter reads "we are unable to take favorable action."

2/27: Waitlisted at Fordham. Odd, but maybe I should have known it was coming when they asked me to list the others schools I was applying to.

2/29: Rejected at Harvard and waitlisted at Michigan.

3/1: Accepted at USC.

Mid-March: Waitlisted at BU, Vanderbilt, and W&M (?)

3/27: Rejected from Duke.

4/2: In by phone at Texas

4/7: Ah feeel good! Just withdrew from a bunch of schools.

4/18: Rejected from Stanford. Surprise.

5/15: Rejected from Northwestern.

Mid-June (?): Received copy of January rejection letter from NYU, rejected from Michigan's waitlist, and waitlisted at UCLA (first communication since applying in Nov.)

June 16: Rejected from Penn waitlist and transfer request from GULC PT to FT rejected.

June 18: Withdrew from GULC PT. Cycle over.

Cornell it is! Go Big Red!

Yeah, they are obviously all super reaches, but I figure it can't hurt to apply. Although, I am impressed/frightened by the number of schools to which you applied!
