Hello, What special program did you apply for at Duke? I am pretty close in numbers to you I want to know how soon I can expect the waitlist?

Great numbers

Your numbers are pretty awesome. I bet you have an excellent cycle ahead of you. Keep your spirits high!

I just noticed, you got into Georgetown today also! Congratulations! You've had a pretty eventful past week or so. TfA sounds like a great experience. One or two of my friends are TfA reps at my university. I'm an Arizona resident, but I attend school out of state.

Wooo!

Congrats!! I thought hubby didn't want to go to the south, though? (Wow.. I am such a stalker). Anyway, I just calculated it using this year's tuition and rounded up a bit. The letter says tuition will be discussed in upcoming meetings and that will determine the exact amount. I suppose it will be higher for you since I am also a resident. Congrats again! I went to UVA undergrad so if you ever have questions about the area let me know!

Thanks!

Thanks tons. I am pretty excited about it. I notice you haven't posted all of your pending applications. How many more schools are you waiting to hear from?

Congrats

Congrats on getting big $$ from UCLA and UVA!! My numbers are very similar to yours. I hope my cycle goes as well as yours has!

Columbia

So, are you going crazy with thoughts of vomit colored envelopes going through your head? I think I am.

Chicago!!!!!

I am SUPER interested in that. Someone I talked to on here before got $90K last year with approx my numbers (actually, almost exactly your numbers if I remember correctly) - he said they definitely offered it to people before him though- but with all the new money coming w/ Rubensteins... maybe we'll reap benefits?

oh yeah

PS that someone was TFA- not sure if that was clear!

Columbia
Monday, December 06 2010 at 07:00 PM

Well, as you know, I just got admitted to Columbia yesterday, so no need to worry about that anymore. As for where I'm leaning... I think it's narrowed down to Chicago and Columbia, as well as Stanford if I get in. I have some other great choices however, and I might go to some of their admitted students weekends just in case. With or without Stanford it is a pretty tough decision! We will have to wait and see.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind congratulations! I was very excited to hear back from Columbia, and I figured NYU would come around sometime. I wouldn't worry to much about NYC though, Chicago sounds like such an amazing school. I was just chatting with an acquaintance who chose to go there over Harvard. They've done a good job of winning my heart too (even before the scholarship). It's going to be a real tough choice. I'll be at the admitted students weekend for sure. You should definitely try to come - everybody I talk to says that was the single most important thing they did in making their decision. Unless you are completely sold, and then I guess it would be frivolous.

Wednesday, September 15 2010 at 08:00 PM

OMG, thanks!! Where are you leaning? That Northwestern money looks nice..

Wednesday, September 15 2010 at 08:00 PM

Good luck with negotiations! I hope you're enjoying Chicago!

Chicago
Monday, December 06 2010 at 07:00 PM

It looks like we are both heading to Chicago! In your notes you say "Chi upped their scholarship from 60k" but in your chart you still have listed 60k. Does this mean that you have 60k from them or did they give you more and you just didn't update your chart? Either way, congratulations on a great cycle! It's been a pleasure associating with you in our little virtual world here. I look forward to meeting you in the fall.

Negotiation
Monday, December 06 2010 at 07:00 PM

There was some negotiation already going on. They called and offered it to me after Admitted Students Weekend. I guess I spoke with the right people; I'm not really sure.

Wow. I doubt either one of us would have guessed our cycles would be this crazy. Well done Ma'am, well done.
