Veteran Status
Friday, September 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

Sorry to see that you received a rejection from Stetson. Since they are a very liberal school though, it is too surprising that they don't value veteran status. I don't know for certain, but I think veterans like us will do better with a majority of the schools in the South and Midwest. I've noticed that applications from schools in those regions appear to put a greater emphasis on it as part of their diversity. It looks like we both have UMKC, UALR, and Tulsa in common for both of our admission prospects. Hopefully, we will both get into those schools since our numbers are pretty similiar. Best of luck! - azblue82

Congrats on your acceptance to Florida Coastal! Do you think they are going to offer you any $$ to attend?

Hi Sean- No, I'm only applying to TTU because I really like their program (and my family still lives there, which helps!). I'm ready to live in Lubbock again. (Never thought I'd say THAT!) ;-)

No, Lubbock is actually a great place to live. If you get in, you should definitely come to Tech over S. Texas. It's a great school and definitely on the rise. You should visit our thread on LSD "Texas Tech Fall 2006" if you haven't already. I wish you the best & keep us updated!

I was wondering what factors you were using to make your decision between Florida and Texas...especially being from Texas. I had planned on going to FCSL until I received my letter from Tulsa. Tulsa seems to have a stronger academic reputation and after reading a few law school forum discussions, it\\\'s seems to be a name game if you want to move out of state. Good luck!

Decision from TTU?

When did you get your decision from Tech? Did they mail it?

I saw your waitlist status from Tech, I got the same, what's up with them not liking us Army vets?

Good luck!

We have similar stats, so good luck! Sorry to see about your first choice, but getting your second is not bad at all! Congrats! Consider UMKC, it's in a great area.

OCU

Congrats on your acceptance to OCU with $$$. Looks like we might end up accepted at some of the same schools. Hope the remaining apps work out for you.

South Texas

I'm glad to see that you will be starting school soon. I've heard good things about South Texas and I hear that they place very well in the Houston area. Good luck to you!

At South Texas. Glad to see you've found a place where you and your wife will be happy.

Thanks for the post...found out today that Spring is not in the cards for me. I was told that they usually extend more acceptance decisions to WL, but that this year's % accept/attend is higher than usual. That's what I get for waiting until the absolute deadline to apply! Going for it again in the fall...best of luck to you and congrats to your wife on the dream job!

Stetson

In response to your message from a long time ago...I will not be attending Stetson. I am probably going to go to USC. The attorney I work for in Dallas went to South Texas and he is very successful. Congrats
