Hey! You should email the dean of suffolk asap asking to be considered for a merit scholarship because I bet you could get some big $ from them!

I wanted to go to school in LA, I didn't think I'd be able to get into USC or UCLA, Loyola felt too stuffy for me and Southwestern fits more with my personality. I sat in on 3 classes there last week and was really impressed with the caliber of teaching. I'm not trying to go into big-law and everything about SW just kind of feels right. Plus the scholarship helps out a lot too :)

Congrats on your full ride! I just visited the school today as well and was really impressed. Are you going to enter in the SCALE program or traditional day?

SCALE

At first I wasn't even considering doing the SCALE program, but the director of the program really won me over. You still get to do an internship over the summer and it ends up being kind of only a year and 3/4 because classes end in March of the second year, then you do an externship for 3 months! The director also broke down the scheduling for me and it doesn't even seem that bad! They showed me all these pictures of the SCALE students and they all seem really close, like they hang outside of school together and are all good friends. Also, it seems like the SCALE students are more advanced than regular day. I don't know if I will end up going to Southwestern or not, and your totally right about the economic situation, but if I do end up at Southwestern, I'm seriously considering SCALE now. You should interview just to hear them out.

I realize a full ride is nothing to sneeze at, especially at a decent school like SW, but turning down both USD AND Loyola esp when you got a sizable scholly at the latter, now that is pretty ballsy...Best of luck!
