--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tried to aim high and basically only applied to the Top schools, Otherwise it is JMLS for me.

It is looking more like John Marshall for me; however, most of the remaining schools are more likely to grant me an acceptance. Only time, prayer, and hope will tell.

Thanks for all the encouragement man, I'm going to take your advice and follow up on some letters to help my chances of getting off the waitlist. Good luck with the second time around, it's gotta work out for you now.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice on law schools. I don't know much about the NYLS AAMPLE program, other than that it is the same as Nova's (which royally sucks, I've heard). Did you go through the cycle last year as well? Congratulations on your acceptance to John Marshall--best of luck to a future attorney!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I was on Loyola's waitlist for two straight years: 2005 for Full-Time, 2006 for Part-Time, and I never got off of it. Our numbers are quite similar, but my GPA is a little higher. Anyway, I don't like Loyola, either. You were saying something about in recent years NIU is more "numbers heavy." Does that mean all they care about is the LSAT? Or do they factor in the GPA as well? I thought they were really high on community service activities, too? As far as John Marshall, check out my profile. It's not a great school. I truly hope you get accepted somewhere else that is better. Their facilities are totally behind the times, their elevators are almost always down, it will take you about 20 minutes to leave your first year classes to go anywhere else...you name it and it's a problem at John Marshall. Just thought I'd let you know about that one, cause I went there!

Haven't decided yet
Saturday, November 04 2006 at 07:00 PM

Haven't decided where I'll be at all, yet. I just got an offer from Michigan State today. I thought I was going to ONU for sure, but now I just want to see about financial aid and what each school has to say in their letters of admission.

Thanks

Thank you for the encouraging words and YES I get shit from schools that have rejected me, the only thing that makes me feel better is the fraction of a cent they spent sending it out and I just threw it away. Bitter anyone!? :) Congrats on John Marshall!

Do you ever...
Thursday, February 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

Do you ever sit and ask yourself why the hell you put yourself through all this shit....just to get into a school and bitch about the work load for 3 years to then have to take yet another TEST just to practice in a state. Oh yeah...and then have to get a job. I guess law students are just masochists and enjoy the pain .. .. .. .. :) (i think I'm going to add that to my blog...) :) :)

great idea!

we should start a group, like one of those lame (but funny) Will Farrell movies and start our own law school that has only half the bullshit..... :)

Nah...tonight was mail free....... How about you?

I'll leave
Thursday, February 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'll leave the whole "puppy waiting for a big package" comment alone... lol.. But I know how you feel, I almost cringe going through the mail...both because I want to get something from a school and also I sort of dont! ya know? I want to come home to a large BOX with an acceptance letter and hats and sweatshirts begging me to come...none of this small envelope shit.. lol

New England School of Law
Friday, March 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey Stevie: Further to your posting below, why didn't you go to New England School of Law in 2006? Been thereFriday February 16th 2007 12:49pm When I say speaking from experience, I mean it. We basically have identical scores. Last year I tried took at stab at the process. I was naive and took a year off, but I did get into Roger Williams and NESL. I applied really late to RWU and got in. NESL waitlisted me but I sent a letter stating it was my top choice and I got a letter with the Dean actually writing welcome to NESL. PS: Being waitlisted was my predominant theme. - stewielaw

Thanks, and I am pretty excited about Seattle. I must admit I really impressed with them, they have contacted me on several occassions congradulating me, and actively engaging me to join their Law School. It really has been quite humbling. I'm pulling for you though...Don't fret, last year when I applied I was rejected by 10 schools and waitlisted at Boyd which accepts like 70% of its class from in state. lol. You will get in where you are destined to get in. Its that simple, dont let anything break your spirits or get you down regardless. And congrats to you as well on your acceptance.

JMLS
Wednesday, February 07 2007 at 07:00 PM

Heh, long time, no chat. I hope you enjoy JMLS. I didn't fair well there, but that doesn't mean no one else can. It can be a solid school, for some. My health was a big factor, and basically Chicago has not been kind to me healthwise, so I'm leaving anyway. But good luck to you next year.
