Additional info & updates

Applying with my much higher Dec LSAT score.

Received fee waivers everywhere I applied except Texas.

Details of apps:
Vanderbilt: Interviewed and submitted Merit Scholars application
Duke: Submitted "Why Duke"
UVA: Wrote "Why UVA"
Georgetown: Interview requested 2/8, Interviewed 3/15
I did not have anyone contact me for a month.
Then I asked my application to be moved to review
and I was immediately given an interview.

1/12: Alabama: Invited to interview for Dean's Scholarship 1/14

1/24: Alabama: Received Dean's Scholarship equal to full tuition (I am in-state) plus $2,000 stipend each year.

1/27: Vanderbilt: Received Fed Ex Package! So excited!

2/3: WUSTL: In via email.

2/11: USC: Decision finalized 2/7. Still haven't received snail mail acceptance but received invitation to enter admitted students website via email. Edit: Received letter and packet on 2/14.

2/16: Texas: In via phone call.

2/18: Emory: In via package in the mail. Scholarship for $25K a year for total of $75K for three years.

2/21: WUSTL: Scholar in Law Award for $43K a year for total of $129K over three years. Almost full tuition. Wow.

2/25: Duke: Placed on Priority Reserve. My "Why Duke" wasn't very good, and they place really emphasize having your app in by 1/1, which mine wasn't. I'm assuming neither of these things really helped my app.

2/25: Texas: Received scholarship in the mail for non-resident tuition exemption plus $9600 a year so total value of $76,500.

3/7: Vanderbilt: Received scholarship via snail mail for $84K over three years. I will most likely be attending.

3/10:UVA: Waitlisted. Not surprised.

3/28: Georgetown: Finally got a decision. Accepted via admitted students website.

4/4: Georgetown: Got the letter with really nice handwritten note. I was going to send them a pissed off email about how they handled the interview process with my withdrawal... But the note was a nice touch.

On the new LSAT score!! If you're not totally set on starting law school this fall, you'd have a lot more options if you applied next cycle. Is Vandy still your first choice?

i want to work in the southeast. i also don't like cold weather. at all. this eliminated quite a few schools. i'm debt averse and vandy was always my number 1... so I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out. :)
