Additional info & updates

Wrote PS on WE. That took a long, long time.

Duke by email. Priority Track. Great to be accepted somewhere.
Georgetown by mail (small envelope).
Vanderbilt by package in mail. And more packages.
UMich by mail. Very excited. Knew one was in the mail after looking at status checker.
NU by email. Never went complete.
Penn by call. Awesome.
NYU by mail. Never went complete. Not big on the NY schools. Big Law is not appealing.
UVA by snail mail (small envelope). Dean's Scholar offer noted in letter. Fun school.
Applied to GW. Wouldn't have paid the $ if I wasn't serious.
Columbia by green envelope in snail mail. Followed by an insane volume of mail.
Chicago by call.
Withdrew from Vanderbilt. One down.
I think I was deferred by Boalt?
GW by email. No complete email. Scholarship offers have been lower than expected here, maybe they think I'm not serious?
Withdrew from Boalt and Duke. Three down. Feels good.
Withdrew from Michigan. This one hurts a little. A really, really great school. Dean Zearfoss is wonderful. $ offer just couldn't compete with some others.
Withdrew from NYU and Columbia. New York is not for me.
Withdrew from Gtown. Bad climate, bad culture, and... no money?! Cornblatt invited me to apply for the scholarship. I wrote a decent essay. No money! Funny - because I was really considering Gtown to stay in DC.
Withdrew from Chicago. Not enough $, and too academic.
PENN IT IS. Penn seems like a great fit, and the Levy Scholar offer was too much to turn down.
Waitlisted and withdrew from Harvard. Expected with my numbers.
Rejected from Stanford. Happy to finally get something out of them.

In retrospect, I applied to way too many schools. Should have trusted the LSN datapoints! Very happy with the results.

If you are only really considering CCN or HYS, can you please think about withdrawing from Berkeley?

Re: Berkeley

I'm not a rankings-oriented guy... Berkeley is definitely still on the table. I'll withdraw from schools as soon as I've made a decision not to attend. Good luck out there.

Bless You!

Toll or Levy

Can I ask?

TITLE REQUIRED
Monday, April 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

can i ask if you accepted the levy? the only reason I ask is because my numbers are nearly identical to yours and i just accepted the levy a week ago (turning down columbia, which really hurt). will i see you at penn law?

Re:

See you at Penn next year! I was WL by Harvard too and had to take myself off- that one hurt as well. But oh well, we're both done.
