03/25/2008 - Seattle gave a resounding "no." That actually stings a little.

03/16/2008 - Rejection from UT. Not a big surprise there.

03/14/2008 - Accepted at Texas Wesleyan with a less than impressive scholarship offer. Boo.

03/13/2008 - Well it's about freaking time--Checked the online status for Texas Wesleyan and a decision has been "rendered" and "mailed". I'm not really impressed at their speed. Are there that many people applying to Tex Wes?

02/23/2008 - Oh Happy Day. I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting and I finally heard back from Tech: Accepted! Though that is a little dirty that they want the acceptance deposit in two weeks. I really want to go to Tech, but I wanted to hear back from Case first. Damn...

02/16/2008 - St. Mary's showing the love with $8,000 the first year followed by the same for each additional if I am in the top 25% of the class.

02/11/2008 - Finally received my big, red envelope from Albany. It is nice. ;)

02/08/2008 - I GUESS I have been accepted to Albany. Here is the text of the e-mail that I received:

"Welcome to Albany Law School!

Congratulations on your acceptance to Albany Law School. You will be joining our law school community at an exciting time. Our intellectually stimulating environment, with a world-class faculty, entrepreneurial centers and rigorous academic program, is waiting for you. If you haven't visited yet, I encourage you to visit our campus in the Capital of New York State or visit us online at www.albanylaw.edu.

We are committed to your success and I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Thomas F. Guernsey
President and Dean"

I guess one of my problems was that this e-mail was sent from Catherine Zeronda's e-mail address. I don't really know what to say.

02/07/2008 - Cricket chirping at the mailbox. Seriously...what's the freakin' holdup?!?!?!

01/19/2008 - Thin, white ACCEPTANCE letter from St. Mary's. It's good to know that if everything else falls through, I'll still be able to go somewhere besides Tex Wes.

01/17/2008 - Thin, white rejection envelope from Vanderbilt. Expected, so not a big deal.

01/11/2008 - Received e-mail from Tech saying that my application was complete and would be submitted to the admissions committee next week.

01/10/2008 - Received confirmation letter from Albany that my application is complete.

01/09/2008 - Received e-mail from Tech "to acknowledge receipt of [my] application for admission."

01/04/2008 - Received confirmation letter from St. Mary's that my application is complete.

01/03/2008 - The wait is going to kill me.

i know, they really are getting more and more competitive. im REALLY thankful/surprised i was straight up accepted with my index number. not sure what gave me the extra edge. i'm sure you will get in, especially with your retake index number and soft factors. hopefully you will get some good news from them soon :)

to be quite honest with you, i don't remember any correspondance from tech saying my application had been sent to the committee. maybe they did, but i don't remember. i do remember submitting the app, seeing the check for the app fee go through, and then sitting and waiting knowing that i was guaranteed a decision by "mid-january." either way, from start to finish the process took around two and a half months. and i haven't retaken the lsat mainly because i fear backsliding. i have too many friends who've seen themselves move the wrong way in the score bracket the second time around. i figured my score at least gave me a puncher's chance of getting in. we'll see anyway.

Good luck!

i was waitlisted or well they call it the 'active consideration category' and then two weeks later got the acceptance, and i had about a week and a half to submit a deposit. i still haven't heard from st. marys - it's weird.

good luck!

Congrats on your results so far. On Tech's seat deposit, you can call them and tell them that you need a couple of extra weeks to scrape together the cash to send in the deposit. I did, and they gave me an extra 2 weeks. It will only buy you a month maybe, but you might hear back from Case by then. Good luck.

Thank you as well for the congrats. The way things are shaping up, I'm thinking I'll head to Arkansas or Mississippi, and probably Mississippi. That could change if I get into any of my wait lists, but I'll just have to wait and see on that.

I did get the invitation, but I couldn't attend. I'm still pretty bummed about getting waitlisted there. And yes, the money for St. Mary's is great! Congrats on your acceptances so far!
