Additional info & updates

If you look at this site, a lot of people will tell you that if you cast a large net, you might be pleasantly surprised. After my cycle, I don't think this is really true unless you are a URM. The truth of the matter is that no matter how large your net is, if it isn't a great net, you're not going to catch very much.

Best of luck to all future applicants. I hope that your cycle goes better than mine.

Hey there, quick question for you. Has Chicago-Kent requested your Report on LSAC yet? It seems to be taking a while, I thought I'd check and see if the same went for you.

congrats!

Congratulations on Penn State!

Penn State

Congrats on Penn State!! How did they notify you? Was it an email or just snail mail?

hang in there! those admissions people are bitches. i wish i could share my lsat score with you for some of that GPA. i'm getting more nervous about not getting anywhere by the day so i know how you feel getting more and more concerned about your score.

LSAT

I have you're exact same stats and your comments about the LSAT made me laugh hysterically! I know exactly how you feel and have so far received 2 rejections and 0 acceptances. Good luck from a fellow 158'er!

i feel your pain-- we have similar stats... i went to penn state as an undergrad so if you have any questions about the area, the "vibe" of the school or whatever-- let me know, i'll try to help! when i graduated last year, they had just finished building the huge law school facility-- i know the law school used to be in carlisle but i think it might have completely moved to UPark? Anyway, good luck!!

That's crazy you also studied abroad in Costa Rica! When were you there? I was there in '03.

Sorry to see the waitlist for fordham. We have similar stats and I'm really hoping they will come through for me! Good luck with the rest of the schools.

Chicago-Kent

Sorry to hear about Chicago-Kent! They deferred me too. Are you going to ask them to consider you for PT and FT? I am, but I don't know if I would actually go if I was accepted PT. Your comments on the LSAT are hilarious, especially when I have the same score. I feel your pain!

Waitlisted at American?

Me, too. I also got an outright rejection from Fordham so congrats on that one. I really have my fingers crossed for Tulane - I feel like it's my last hope!

i can commiserate

i just read your frustrating string of rejections and can TOTALLY relate. i know that feeling of being a bit beat up by the process. I too was immediately rejected flat out at schools for which my stats where in the middle, and at several stretches too. take heart in the fact that a wave of rejections usually comes BEFORE acceptances. well, that was the case for me. there are just SO many people applying to law schools that schools like Kent are going to waitlist people like us (under 160lsat) until April to see who sends in deposits. chin up! good luck!

good luck

We have the same scores and your acceptance to temple kind of gets my hopes up. Although I applied much later in the process. Anyways congrats on temple and good luck with the other schools, although it looks like you're doing fine.

Congrats!

Congrats on Temple and PSU! I'm very jealous about Temple, they have a strong reputation in the Philadelphia area. Penn State's new building is very nice as well, I'm an undergrad here so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. GL on the rest of your cycle!

Monday, February 16 2009 at 07:00 PM

I like temple because I went there for undergrad and because they have a decent international law program. But I like it even more because its only 15 grand or so a year.

Congrats!

On the OSU acceptance! It's a good school and you should be happy about it. My cycle ended up a little crappier - no acceptances and three waitlists. At least the three waitlists are at schools I would attend, but I still think I have a 50% shot at having to retake next year. Anyway, best of luck and congratulations again!
