gee, thanks for the encouragement... anyway, it was actually 5 yrs into an MD/PhD program before i quit, so the reversal isn't as wishy washy as it may seem.

The first comment wishing you luck was really from me, but the "Flip flop" one was someone pretending to be me. I'd never think anything like that! Sorry he/she was so obnoxious! And really, good luck with everything!
Thanks! Good luck to you, we look like pretty good numbers twins here, and I'm sure you'll have no problem with Gtown. Good luck with NYU, it's one of my top choices.
Are those all of your apps in their totality? Why not throw a few more into the mix? You'll definitely get into at least 2 or 3 of those, if not all, but why not spend another 300 bucks?
...13 is a bit more than I had originally intended, but fee waivers made applying widely a bit easier to stomache. You sure seem to have an interesting story with the med/law switch...I'll be interested to see how things play out for you; please keep me posted! p.s. I'm also jealous that you went complete at Duke so quickly! I submitted 10/31 and still haven't seen any changes in my compulsive status-checker-checking. :-)
Did you manage to get a MS or something out of your 5 years as MD/PhD? I think Washch is right on; your intense curriculum will mitigate your split, and your obvious intelligence, demonstrated in your LSAT score, your MD/PhD curriculum, etc , will triumph. Also, you can't be jealous of me; your numbers and your resume both seem better than mine
You're in at NYU, btw:) Good luck, and fantastic LSAT!
for the congrats! I have a feeling NYU ED is going to work out very well for you. I'm keeping my options open for the moment, but I must admit that HLS is a pretty big draw. :-)
Yeah, I heard from Duke today around 6pm...it was a nice suprise, since I had sort of forgotten about it and was working late (darn Sydney/DC time differences!)...but it's nice to know I'm in somewhere. :-)
I know what you mean about Gtown taking forever...I LIVE IN THEIR CITY, for gosh sakes! :-)
For editing my PS! Best of luck to you this cycle. :-)
yeah...like that's going to convince me =]
...looks like you won't need that. I definitely considered Med too though I don't think I did well enough in college. I'm pretty psyched about the law thing anyhow - keep me informed and best of luck! YOU WILL DO AWESOME!
for the well wishes. Here's to more nonTrad success! I think you will have a great cycle.
Awesome stats, you're in the catbird's seat! Hope you kick some A$$ this cycle!
the best part about Duke was that the JD/MA e-mail came around 430pm, and the "we may have allowed your ID to be stolen" e-mail came about two hours later. Oh, Duke.
Or did I call it? :) CONGRATS! How exciting!
On NYU! :)
Congratulations on your NYU acceptance. And now you are done. Think of me biting my nails as you relax and enjoy the interim before 1L starts :)
I had no doubt you'd get into NYU :) I think it's going to come down to NYU or Michigan for me, regardless of how the rest of my cycle turns out. Maybe I'll see you in NY! Enjoy your time off before law school!
Congratulations, I am pumped!
Woohoo! Congrats on being done!!
Congrats on getting accepted to your first choice!
like the others, just wanted to congratulate you on nyu!
I just figured out that this is/was you. Chances are I'll see you at NYU next year.
assuming I get into columbia it's going to come down to money and the commute. Columbia's med/dental school is in the far north of manhattan so it's not like we'd be on the same campus anyways.
CONGRATS!!! That is awesome, well done!
easy for you too say =]
...for the congratulations. Your story is fantastic; you're sure to bring a unique element to next fall's class at NYU.
Thank you for the congrats! I'm very happy to have the acceptance under my belt. Congrats on your acceptance, as well!
Does it feel good to know exactly where you will be in 8 months? If I had the numbers NYU would be my choice over HYS anyday.
^^ That post was from me. :)
thanks for the continuing encouragement...i already have two good choices, it is just a bit paranoia inducing to have to wait so long! i have a feeling it will be a busy two months as things gear back up, though...
Congratulations on NYU! Will you be attending an ASW?
I'm thinking I'll go to the first one on March 7. I'm within commuting distance, so I might make an additional trip some other time.

I hadn't actually thought about attending one, but since my parents live right outside the city, I could maybe catch one when I'm home to see them. Let me know when you decide which one you're going to. It would be great to meet! I have a feeling, though, that we might find we're scarily similar :)
thanks borders! phew
I just RSVPed for the one on March 7th. Have you decided yet which one you're attending?
i'll probably see you at nyu next year! that must have been amazing to hear so early
I'm sure that schools will take your pre-med curriculum into consideration when looking at your splits . Plus, quitting med school for law school shows big time commitment. You should be in great shape. Don't worry about your list - you will definitely get into at least one of those schools, so no reason to add other schools you wouldn't want to go to as much as any of those. Congrats on having the conviction to make the switch, and best of luck!
