Thanks for the Boalt comment. You got a better L&C offer than me. Congrats on all your $$!

Are you going to the L&C event on 3/18? I plan to.

I'm almost definitely going, I know it's a great school, but it just seems to have a couple main fields and not a lot else and I'm not very interested in environmental law so I'm not sure why I'm going, but at least they are paying to send me so why not I guess

I was going to go to the L&C weekend, I will be in Mexico (oh, darn :-). I am still on the fence about whether I will attend or not. The University of Arizona has been very generous, and I am leaning that way. However, I really like Portland . . .

You bet it is

You said that "Blaming race is convenient, but not necessarily valid" and cited your near identical numbers to mine to prove your point. However, you left out your MA in English and your second LSAT score which give your application a little more credibility. Look, regardless, I'm going to a solid school. However, to pretend like the descrimination hasn't been merely been reversed is a little ignorant. Affirmative Action is a misapplied system with often counterproductive results. I'm not a nazi, just a realistic person. I work a peer leadership training camp that deals with diveristy along the lines of race, religion, ethnicity, & sexual orientation. I don't hate anyone (well, maybe Wanda Sykes, Ashley Simpson, and a few others but at least that isn't because of their race). However, I refuse to live in a utopian world where I'm going to pretend like my race isn't a factor. Sure, I could have used a couple extra LSAT points. But, the fact of the matter is that someone who is less qualified than me will end up in better schools. Just take a look around this site & you'll see the evidence.

Although I have not completely decided, I have narrowed my decision to either UT or U of A (with ASU a still possibility). It was difficult to turn down GWU and U Minn, but reasons outside of law school itself have conspired to leave my focus on the southwest.
