I was obsessed with checking LSN to see who had been admitted/ deferred at UT!! Then I saw the stats and the Cali schools and I thought the whole thing seemed strangely familiar....

We have similar numbers and and school pics. Any idea when we'll hear from USD re: merit scholarships? Email me if you get the chance?

I would say that USD is right up there. San Diego is beautiful, although it's not a power school, it's the only one in SD of any significance. It's also on an up-trend. Tell me what you think after your trip.

congrats!

By the way, I've heard a few people have received 27k merit scholarships. Their scores have varied, so hopefully we'll get some of that action as well.

I don't remember the exact dates when I received the $ from USD, but it was included my acceptance letter/package, which was received on Feb 25. BTW: Congrats on your acceptance to UT. I am happy with my decision to attend UT.

Thanks!!

Glad you liked it. Haven't toured the campus, but have been to San Diego about three times. I think it would be the best place to call home. When you get the chance, I'd love more details about what you thought and we'll cross our fingers for scholarships.

Early Decision

Did you really apply to all of those schools early decision? I thought applying ED was a binding contract to attend the school if you were to get accepted. Too late for me now, but I was just curious. Thanks.

Still no word. I even emailed them telling them it was my top choice if they could fork up some cash. It wouldn't make since to go there without a scholarship. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Financial Aid Award letter received 03/07 - no mention of scholarships. Really weird we haven't gotten an offer all things considered. I think, given your situation, CalWestern will be great! Good luck!

I almost withdrew yesterday, but decided to hold off because it doesn't hurt me to stay in the mix. About a week ago I sent them an email saying that I was highly interested in the program and asked if there was anything else I could provide. They just sent a generic Fin Aid email. I'll probably just not spend anymore time contemplating it and...if an offer comes, great. If my significant other lived their and I really wanted to be in SD, I would probably send them copies of all your great scholarship offers. I definately wouldn't pay full tuition there, though. Let me know how it goes.

USD Comes through..

...at the buzzer. Congrats! Sounds like it's all about determining if you want to live in TX or San Diego. I'm sure you'll make a great choice, you really can't go wrong.
