to explain my comment above...

Hey,

At least you've heard SOMETHING. My application was received at Minnesota in November, and I'm still pending.... As much as I want to stay in MN, I'm starting to really seriously consider going to GW.

I'll weigh in on Emory...

I went there for undergrad too. I can't completely deny the disparaging comments made by that one person. I have plenty of critiques of the place, particularly the social scene. However, those comments are overly dramatic too. Yeah, a lot of the kids are snotty and spoiled, but you're in a big city with PLENTY of other people to hang out with. I had tons of friends at other schools in Atlanta (very rare for Emory students) and I really enjoyed myself. As far as the law students go... From what I understand, you're going to find a lot of snotty, fake, know-it-alls at any law school you go to so I wouldn't expect Emory to be much worst than others. The truth is it's in a pretty decent city, the academics are great, your resources are really really great, the campus is beautiful, and there are plenty of social options beyond the "Emory Bubble." Oh and the campus housing thing is completely wrong... They built an entire campus of nice apartment-style housing, a large proportion of which are for grad students. It's MUCH nicer than most schools' on-campus housing. That poster and I probably agree on more regarding Emory than we disagree about, but they're giving you a very bitter version of their experience. There are much more reasonable perspectives out there.

An amendment...

Haha... I'd like to amend my previous post to also point out that--while still aknowledging the presence of douchebags on campus--there are also still plenty of really great people at that school. The douche ratio is definitely higher than at some other universities, it's not intolerable. If for someone you do find it intolerable, you're not trying very hard to find the decent people there. Any relatively prestigious, PRIVATE school is FULLLLL of those sort of people... So just ignore them and find the good ones. We are out there. :)

congrats on emory
