Additional Information

Retaking the LSAT in December; 165 isn't bad, but was well below my practice test average.

Wrote a GPA addendum, mostly just to show contrition for my lack of effort in undergrad. No great excuses to speak of, I just hoped to persuade them to believe that five years past graduation the bad student in me is dead (which I'm confident really is the case).

12/29: The retake resulted in a lower score of 163. So, I guess I'm a 165 in the eyes of some schools, and a 164 in the eyes of some others. That isn't going to cut it with some of these I know, but...we'll just have to see what happens.

1/6: Status checker on Denver has shifted to "Decision Processed." I e-mailed them to see when I could expect a decision, and they said it should be mailed within a week. Would sure be nice to get that first acceptance under my belt.

dude, great job on getting a 165. I thought Oct LSAT was killer compared to other PTs.

Looking at your school list, your current LSAT score is probably already sufficient for an acceptance. Or are you still bouncing around with other schools if you can break the 170-mark? shinichi

Thanks for the compliment, October was really tough, the -9 curve for a 170 was surprising. Reading comp got to me, 9 of my 15 misses were on that section.

Arizona/ASU/Notre Dame/Pepperdine all seem like relatively difficult admits unless I can get my score up. I could happily reconcile myself to many of the other ones, but those four are among my favorites. A higher score gives me a better shot at money from schools too.

My PT average was 169/170, with 165 really being on the low end...I had only scored that low on one timed practice test in my last 20. I do plan to cancel my December score if I feel for any reason it hasn't gone well, because you're right, my score should get me a decent number of acceptances as it currently is.

Good luck on your cycle, we should both have a good shot at McGeorge. Looks like that's our one school in common. LKJ

The october LSAT was nasty. I dropped 8-10 points from my practice scores. Do you think it's worth it to retake the test? Probably to late for me to do so, but hopefully it works out for you. hxd2282

Yeah, I think the retake is worth it. Now that the rules have changed so that schools can just report their admitted students' highest LSAT scores, there are plenty of schools who say they'll just accept your highest score as the one they count for your application.

Of course, if my score goes down, I'm sure it'll ding me at least a little bit even with the ones who say they look at highest only, and hypothetically a 170 on the December test will be tempered a bit by the October 165, but I think my odds are much better of having my score go up than down. – LKJ
