hey, when did your status checker say your application was going to the review committee at UGA?

haha, yeah I went to UGA for a couple years and am finishing up my undergrad in kennesaw...I don't think they will get into the BCS, just because the sheer wackiness that would have to occur for it to happen, but then again its been a crazy season...I really wanted them to get to the SEC game, but Kentucky just didn't finish it off! Oh well, I hope they decide on my app quicker than 2-3 weeks or I might go crazy...are you gonna withdraw your app if you get a few more of those T14s in the acceptance column?

Sorry to see the responses this weekend. Harvard and Stanford, that isn't fun. You did get accepted to some other great schools, so try not to be down too long!

I like Boalt and Umich, but it's still early and so much depends on money, too. What about you?

On Chicago!

I don't think it would be too bad, hopefully not too dorky. I guess just visit if you can and see how you think it is. My biggest concern about there is the weather, but I'm in LA where it was in the eighties today, so that's what I'm used to. The idea of actually being negative degrees is completely foreign to me. I guess if I go there or anywhere in the NE I'll have to get some new winter clothes. I love that video- it's so colorful and psychadelic. The part with the cats makes me laugh. Good luck with making a decision! :)

  • Hey

My reasons are somewhat long-winded, but I'm sure that you're familiar with them if you've researched the schools. Long story short, Chicago places well and I like the concept of a small class in a relatively low COL area. Plus, I'm interested in Academia, though I harbor no delusions about how well I'll need to perform in school in order to place. LR is almost required for Academia out of Chicago. Berkeley will probably need to provide money in order to lure me. I'm leaning Chicago, provided I don't break HYS. Where are you leaning? Congratulations on all your amazing choices, and I'm surprised that the 3.6 disqualified you from HYS. You go to a top grade-deflating school; I'm sure that you were above median.

actually right now berkeley has a slim lead -- with your enthusiasm seems like youd agree that its worth choosing over CCN right?

Congrats to you as well. I am very tempted just to take it and withdraw from all other schools. I was wondering the same thing you asked... The scholarship probably looks good on a resume, but I'm not sure how it "affords recognition" at the school. Maybe faculty members are more apt to pick Dean's Scholars as research assistants? Or it could just be flowery language...

Haha, he was pretty amusing. Which school are you leaning towards? You've got some great choices. :)

- PinkTiki
  • I want to be a part of it
  • Monday, March 17 2008 at 08:06 PM

New York, New York. At least that's where I'm leaning right now. I seriously doubt I'll get in to H or S and Chicago (not in yet but hope to be) seems too depressing. What about you? Leanings?

- mmg3327
  • Thanks

  • Wednesday, March 26 2008 at 08:58 AM

I'm thinking Columbia right now--over NYU simply because of the appeal of the Ivies :) NW money is tempting, but I don't want to practice in Chicago. Are you my future classmate??
