Additional info & updates

Thoughts on the cycle as it closes:
I had to apply to lots of schools because of the multiple LSATs (and parents flipping out thinking I wouldn't get accepted anywhere). The scholarships were definitely nice, and I'm glad I retook the LSAT because it upped my chances, as well as the $$$ I received. I wish I would have gotten my applications out about a month earlier. The Penn waitlist was kind of dissappointing, as I think I might have liked it there. I liked NYU and Berkeley a lot, but the locations were too far from home. Yale and Stanford were longshots, so I'm not surprised I got dinged at either. I liked Michigan, but the scholarship wasn't competitive with other schools. I enjoyed my visit to Duke the best, and my fiance already has job offers there, so barring a Harvard miracle, I'll be a Blue Devil.

More details on Harvard:
Received the deferral e-mail in early February. Sent a LOCI and an additional LOR around 2 weeks later. Received the waitlist at the end of April, and a week later sent a brief LOCI saying I'm still very interested.

Appreciate it, and you deserve it too.. You're a lock in the T14 :), but consider your safeties carefully. Consider where you want to work...Between #15-20, that's probably more important. My impression is WUSTL is the best safety for you....and then maybe BU or Fordham, but probably WUSTL. I don't think ULCA/USC make much sense unless you're thinking of going out west, and Vanderbilt is probably more if you wanna work in the south. Best of luck though :).

Congrats!

Kind of a numbers twin here. 171 (with one lower score) and 4.0. Good luck and congrats on all the acceptances. We have a lot in common so maybe I'll see you at an ASD? Where are you leaning?

Congrats!

Fantastic accomplishments, sincere congrats... now how about withdrawing from Berkeley so the rest of us lesser mortals can have a shot ;) ?

Berkeley

Thanks. I would withdraw from Berkeley but it's probably in my top 3. If H or S comes through, I can mass withdraw, but right now I need a little longer to decide on my options.

Thanks!
