Additional Information

Late October - In at Duke via email! :)

Early November- HLS Phone call

Late November- In at HLS :)

Early January - Deferred at Northwestern and I'm treating as a waitlist, kinda surprising since I did the interview and it seemed to go really well. I guess this means no Nwestern scholly? :( Thinking about applying to Michigan after being guilted by an email from Zearfoss.

Mid January - Opted against applying to Michigan. Have yet to hear from Chicago and am now firmly entrenched in my belief that I have been somehow blacklisted across the Chicago metro area. Hopefully will hear from Columbia soon...

Late January- Just heard from Chicago, yay :)

Later January- Email from Columbia saying "Congrats again" Assuming that one of my yet to be opened packages that came this past Monday is from CLS :)

Early Feb- Picked up my mail, Butler Fellowship at Columbia

A little later in Feb- Stanford rejection in mailbox, ouch

A bit later in Feb- And so it ends with a whimper, rejected from Yale. H and Columbia were always my top choices the sting is only mild.

Early March- A little money from Duke, but less than Columbia

Late March- Some money from Chicago

Scholarship amounts are over all three years.

Back from ASW, will be most likely committing to Harvard in the coming days.

Update Dec 08- Well I'll be HLS '12 after I send in my official confirmation next month. Looking back, I realize I had a fairly odd cycle and even though i didn't have the best batting percentage, I was accepted to my top two choices and I couldn't have been happier with my choices. Good luck to everyone! :)

No doubt, the split is what's hot - but your numbers are too high to be much of a split. You're less of a splitter, more of a baller... letsgomets

Congratulations on Harvard!! We have similar numbers, and I'm wondering if there's anything extraordinary about your application that should stop giving me hope for my own Harvard aspirations.
I don't mean to sound all negative about our numbers - it's just fantastic to see someone in my ballpark accepted there. – mg2079

Congrats on Harvard and good luck on your other apps! The NW deferral was most likely b/c you lacked work experience or they didn't think you'd actually go there (prob the latter). Do you have an early fav? saasen

Sorry about Stanford, I figured you'd be set for a sweep; that's bogus. Still, good luck with Yale, you deserve it! letsgomets

That's some terrible timing on my part - but it's hard to feel too bad for you with those big 4 schools (that's a lot of money from CU!). I don't know, for me a lot depends on $$ and on public interest stuff, but we'll see... letsgomets
