Feb - Withdrew from ND and U of I after wustl scholarship offer.

02.04 Uchicago deferral. Sent in updated transcript, extra letter of recommendation, but NO essay.

03.03 Got somewhat confusing letter from BU about financial aid. I think it says i don't get any, so i'm withdrawing.

03.31 Attended Duke ASD this past weekend and loved it. Way more impressed than I expected to be. Sent out a bunch of withdrawal letters. Waitlisted at UChicago and not sure whether I'll remain on it. Called UCLA and was told that I may not even have a decision by the end of April.

04.03 Michigan ASW

04.06 Received Michigan scholarship offer by mail after emailing them last week.

04.12 Duke scholarship increase by email

04.15 After spending way too much time thinking about it, I've decided to remain on the UChicago waitlist. Will not send in additional materials, but enclosed a letter reiterating my interest with the waitlist form.

04.22 Withdrew from WUSTL

04.23 first contact from UCLA since I applied. Phone call from Dean to let me know i'd been accepted and that he'd let me know about scholarships within the next day or two.

04.24 Withdrew from Duke with a heavy heart,. I liked them a lot. Sent in my deposit to UMich!

04.30 $40k from UCLA (split 25k-10k-5k) + in-state tuition 2L and 3L years, so about $60k total. Not enough for me to pull me from Michigan, so i'll be withdrawing shortly.

05.16 Phone call from UChi dean to tell me that my application was going to final review. Asked why i wanted to attend, if i could give up other commitments.

05.19 Accepted to UChicago!! Decision required by 05/27

05.26 Just sent in my UChicago acceptance! Can't believe i'll be withdrawing from UMich tomorrow; i thought it was the school for me at one point.

No problem. I visited all of my schools except William and Mary and W&L. WUSTL and Duke were by far my favorite visits. WUSTL was such an impressive campus and the people were so welcoming. To be honest, I would have gone to Duke if they had given me even half the scholarship that WUSTL offered. When I called them to explain my situation, they basically told me that I wasn't getting any money and that I should choose based on that. Going to WUSTL for free means that I won't have to worry about being in debt forever. For me, I didn't want to take on debt unless I got into a Top 5 school. Have you visited all your schools yet?

Similar numbers, similar schools. We're in the same situation with WashU vs. Cornell. What are your thoughts?
