Additional info & updates

12/01: Just a week after I sent in my final application, I receive my first acceptance from the same school: full ride to Baylor. It's nice to have an acceptance before winter break.

12/05: Anxious. Revealing the rest of my apps.

12/11: Uh-oh. I missed an important phrase on one of my applications, and they e-mailed me to inform me about it.

12/13: Phone call while studying for my last final exam--in at Minnesota! She told me that I wouldn't have to study as hard now, haha.

12/17: I... think I'm accepted to WUSTL?

12/21: In at UIUC via e-mail.

1/07: Got a fee waiver to Vanderbilt, despite the fact I applied in early November. Awesome: they are refunding my application fee!

1/11: Applied to ND. Got another late fee waiver, figured why not?

1/15: WL at UCLA. Staying on.

1/16: Decision at GULC. Never thought I'd see it change from Complete...

1/31: Phone call from UT! Ecstatic about this one.

2/8: In at ND with a package in the mail. It came with a sweet bumper sticker and an even sweeter scholarship package. That late fee waiver they sent me really paid off!

Still eagerly waiting on Michigan, USC, Vandy and Cornell. It's hard to make a decision while waiting on four of my top choices... but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it's beautiful.

2/19: Wow. $7000/year at UT, but with in-state tuition granted as well. This is huge, I'm going to be withdrawing from a lot of my schools pretty soon... still considering UT, ND, WUSTL, Cornell and of course Michigan.

Also went to decision at Vandy. Wow, I haven't had this much action in, well, ever!

2/21: In at Vandy! Whew, finally... I had been getting worried.

2/22: I withdrew from IUB, UIUC, UMN and Baylor. Looks like I won't be continuing my higher education in the Big 10 unless Michigan comes through. I also received some mail: $20k/yr from BU, 1/2 tuition.

2/29: Waitlisted at Michigan. Money from Vandy.

3/27: Cycle is finaaaally over with a waitlist at USC. I got into Cornell a couple days ago and I'm pretty psyched but $44k a year is a lotta tuition money.

4/4: Need-based grant from Cornell. Thank youuuuu!

Similar numbers indeed. Similar schools too. Best of luck!

Good Luck!

Looks like we have similar numbers/applied to a lot of the same schools! Hopefully we hear from some soon!

Thanks for the warm wishes. I haven't been to visit Michigan yet, but I hear it is beautiful. I'm hoping that Ann Arbor is not too small of town for me...Is Michigan your first choice? Good luck with all of your apps!

MN

I'm sure when they do their next round of calls you'll be on the list. What's your #1 choice?

UMich
Monday, October 29 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks a lot--I haven't visited yet, but I look forward to doing so. I figure starting in summer will alleviate some 1L pain.

thanks
Saturday, December 08 2007 at 07:00 PM

Both. I'm applying to a lot of the other schools you have listed too, I just made my account today though and had to cut off the procrastination at some point. I think my first choice is UCLA, but I change my mind almost every day...

same boat UMN
Friday, February 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

I too went completee at UMN on the 26th ... and I too was asked to provide additional info. I'm unbelievably anxious to here now though. Must be any day now, huh? Is it a top choice for you?

Additional Info?
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

What exactly did MN ask for?

Important Phrase??
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

What would that be??

Ahhh
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I might face the same problem with Cornell. I emailed them and asked, but they said my internship LOR should suffice. Wouldn't really catch me too off guard if it didn't, too bad the other prof I asked hasn't written one in nearly 2 months. Good luck with getting yours in!

Texas
Wednesday, August 22 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks. I was a little sad about Columbia, but it was to be expected. Hoping we both get a few more admits in the near future.

Did your UIUC tracker goto 'In Review' yet?

Damn
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I hoped to hear back before xmas! Hopefully they just get smart and admit us with big $$$ :)

Hah
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I honestly thought to myself the same thing when I saw you were listed as complete today. I saw the posts on TLS, so I just marked myself accepted. I'd send them another email, but I'm sure we will get snail mail eventually... Did your UIUC goto decision today?

Congrats on WashU

Good luck to you too, I'm hoping that more acceptances start coming in soon for both of us

LSD

dude, LSD sucks. I hate you for encouraging me to check it out. People are so elitist. My self esteem is bruised.

LOR
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I think I should email Cornell to make sure mine are OK! Good luck getting your prof to actually get it out! As for UIUC...I'm not sure of the decision yet. Just know it was a decision...it just seems too early to be a rejection?

Thanks
Wednesday, November 21 2007 at 07:00 PM

Illinois certainly made me feel better but I haven't completely recovered from the sting of my BC rejection. And yes it was one of my top choices. Now i'm terrified that I won't get into BU either. You should apply to BC if it interests you at all. Judging by your #s i'd say you have a great chance. Also, wow, 3/3, your cycle's off to a great start! Good luck!

THANKS!

Dude, I'm telling you... my prediction'll be accurate :)

Did your status checker just update?

UIUC
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Finally got my letter today. Accepted w/ 25K/year. Exciting stuff. I just hope I can get into at least one school out of UT, Cornell, and Cal...

Thanks
Monday, July 23 2007 at 08:00 PM

I think Chicago is probably my number 1 choice right now. As for Vandy, the online status check showed that a decision had been made a few days before I recieved my acceptance in the mail.

re: awesome
Wednesday, August 22 2007 at 08:00 PM

I indicated that I wanted to be considered for both FT and PT. Although I am very happy to have been accepted, I'm not sure if I really want to be a part time student after all. Congrats on Wash U. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Hey, gmartz
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats. Congratulations to you, as well. It looks like you're off to a very good cycle. I'm not sure what happened with MN or Cornell; just goes to support my theory that admissions committees are funny creatures. No harm done, though, since as long as I can make the financials work out I'm planning to head to Ann Arbor in the summer. How about yourself? Top picks?

Agreed!
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I'm at home til the 20th, so I won't know any decisions unless made by email or phone. I'm pretty sure Texas, Cal, and Cornell will make decisions on me come March, so I'm not worrying too much! Good luck!

re: Hey

Happy New Year! As it turned out, you were right about WUSTL. I'm excited to have it as a choice and now I'm just waiting on UVA. I withdrew from Michigan because my heart wasn't in going there-not that I would have even got in anyway. I don't want to be in a college town where it is so cold. I could take one or the other, but not both. You are rolling now on your apps! Good luck

GULC
Friday, October 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I feel your pain with GULC. I went complete there in very early november (submitted in October), and then was contacted for an interview. I waited 3 weeks to even hear from the alum, and the interview was on the 12th. Now, in 2008, my status checker still says "Interview"...

UCLA
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

I see the WL. Sucks. The whole fee waiver game confuses me. How did you not get a ND waiver after your LSAT? odd Not getting mail for the past 3 weeks has me anxious. Hopefully Cornell marks me complete soon, I'm going nuts.

GULC
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Ah, sorry to see the ding! I'm sure Cornell will show both of us some love!

on UIUC/UMN/WUSL. I hope to hear from them soon and I can only hope that I have the same success! I wish you the best with the rest of your cycle! Keep me informed and I'm pulling for ya! BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!
Thursday, November 01 2007 at 08:00 PM

Yes, those are the numbers for my preferences. I ranked WUSTL so high because it has some great public interest work and scholarships for students interested in it. Also, they have great facilities I've heard. I won't be at the ASD this week, but I plan on visiting at some point soon. Are you looking seriously at anywhere else in particular?

BU!
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

UT
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks! It depends on how the WUSTL visit goes/if there is any money from UT. I would like to visit, but WUSTL wants the March 1st decision (I hope they will clarify if this is soft/can be extended at the ASW next week).

Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

So who's your #1 right now? (without UT money)

Wow!
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats! Amazing offer!

Vandy!
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Sweetness! But that UT offer is still great. Have you heard if the tuition hike at UT is for sure?

Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Just did WUSTL today. Amazing facilities. If only I could feel a bit better about job prospects. Trying to figure out if I can make it out to Cornell. I really want to, but it would be ultra expensive and tough with school going on. I want to get down to the UT one March 28. I am going to see how that plan works out. Yourself?

Hey
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

So why didn't you apply to the #16 school?? Oh yeah, did you get the UT travel stipend info? Trying to figure out if it went to everyone.

..
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Just got it yesterday, so maybe yours is in the mail. Seems odd as some seem to gotten it and others haven't. hmmm

Texas?
Friday, February 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

yo man, when are you going to Austin?

Visiting UT
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

You going? I just booked a flight for 4/3-4/5. Hopefully it is still bitter cold in Wisconsin then so I feel special :)

Hey
Monday, November 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm personally thinking WashU and waiting out the UMich waitlist. That VULS offer looks really good, but you can't go wrong with either of those schools.

UMich
Monday, November 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

Did you put willing to accept summer and fall, or just fall? I put both

Cornell!
Thursday, April 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Sweet! Hopefully they are nicer to you than they were to me with need based aid :)

Summer
Monday, November 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I decided to stay on for both because I figure it might give me a better chance of getting in. Plus, if I haven't heard back by the middle of July I'm going to have to sign a housing lease in St. Louis, which will be the point at which I remove my name from everybody else and start rooting for the Cardinals.

thanks!
Saturday, June 23 2007 at 08:00 PM

with all the W's on your profile, it looks like you're getting close to making a decision! Are you leaning one way or the other?

Cornell! :D
Wednesday, November 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! Congrats to you too! Glad they helped you out with the need-bassed aid too, i'm hoping for some myself. Maybe i'll see you there in the Fall!
