extremely good soft factors.. well, I didn't create peace in the middle east or anything like that.
I would say my personal statement is above average if not outstanding. Of course, I am most definitely biased!
numbers slightly fudged because I got nervous.
Here are my chances according to Hourumd:
Balt: 100%
Chicago-Kent: 100%
Chapman: 100%
UOP: 94%
Case: 93%
SCU: 89%
Penn State: 86%
Pitt: 78%
Seton Hall: 73%
DePaul: 61%
RN: 50%
Loyola LA: 36%
Temple: 25%
GMU: 0% (lol)
Of course, this is all the magic of statistics. It doesn't mean I'll actually get accepted at any of them, hah.
Also, someone pressured me to rank my schools. So, here is the lowdown:
1 = I really want to go here.
2 = I want to go here pretty badly.
3 = going here would be excellent.
4 = Why not!

Additional Information
12/2008 - Felt great about my LSAT retake but I ended up with the exact same score. I'm going to trust the LSAT gods, lower my standards a bit and just apply with what I have. I know it's good enough to get in to one of the schools I like, and I'm ready to go to school again!
1/14/09 - I submitted to Santa Clara, Loyola, and Case Western today as they're all due in February. Putting my free time at work to good use.
1/16/09 - I've officially sent out half of my apps. Nothing more I can do to them! I want to celebrate by reading one of the four books I bought today. Shall it be the James Joyce, Diana Gabaldon, Neil Gaiman, or Japanese katakana/hiragana mnemonic book?
1/21/09 - well I sent in more apps last night. I finally stopped being lazy and finished up the ones I could. I just have 4 schools left, and they're all ready to go.. just waiting on my second LOR to fax the letter in. He told me he wrote it Monday, so hopefulyl I'll get these done today or tomorrow.. if LSAC gets the letter!
1/29/09 - Finally sent in all of my applications. I also did a status checker run through and discovered a "Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Baltimore School of Law!" message. So, I'm going to law school! SOMEWHERE!
2/16/09 - Got my acceptance package and 12/k (conditional) a year from UOP. I called UBalt today and they confirmed they would not be offering any type of scholarship which surprised and disappointed me. Ah well. Withdrawal incoming. Oh, and I just got accepted to Penn State through e-mail. yaaaaaaay
2/18/09 - I noticed my status checker with SCU is 'decision mailed'. Today at work, I got a phone call from the head of the IP department at DePaul congratulating me on my acceptance and letting me know she'll answer any questions I might have!
04/23/09 Withdrew from a ton of schools. Put down deposits at UPitt and Case Western. I finally heard from Rutgers today. They waitlisted me. I was both surprised and moderately annoyed. They're 32 ranks lower than Case who accepted me AND gave me a scholarship. So, adios Rutgers-N. You were my top choice throughout the entire application process. I applied earlier to your school than most, and I get waitlisted. Ah well, I'm pretty sure I'll be in Cleveland this fall. And honestly? I'm excited. Planning on visitng in May. =)
6/4/2009 - after a lot of thought and a much needed visit to both the campus of Pitt and Case, I've decided on Pitt. Attending either school would've cost me the same amount of money, and the city of Pittsburgh is significantly more my style. It's not TOO big that I can't drive places but it doesn't have the overtly suburban feel of the Cleveland Heights area, etc. Plus, the people at Case told me to drive out to this mall because that's where the "high end" shopping was.. and it was pretty tame. Whereas in Pitt I can walk to a sephora if I live in Shadyside. Shallow, I know. But I need to love where I live. =)

Thanks for the comment. Your numbers are a bit better than mine. I am sure you will get in to a school you like. Good luck!
good luck to you, too! Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
i was excited about the Pitt waiver, but your waivers are equally as exciting! i'm wondering how "fudged" your numbers are? also, did you write a "why case" essay for case? i got an invitation to apply yesterday, and i'm actually really interested in the school, but those kinds of essays always seem so fake and generic.
okay, i'll be watching your cycle. what's your number 1 choice? mine is wisconsin, but i really doubt i'll get in there.

Updated my profile, now mroe accurate.
cheers to a great cycle! Friday, January 16th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
i'm actually from maryland, but don't want to stick around, so i'm not applying to any of those schools.
with a 158, you'll do much better than i will. hopefully schools can realize that it's only a difference of a few questions though!
okay, i'll keep watching!

Gah, it's an excruciating waiting game. I wish you luck on your cycle. Maybe I'll see you at George Mason. Maybe. :)
Hi Monday, January 19th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Thanks! Congrats on sending out half of your apps, I am sure you have some acceptances coming your way soon. I hate the waiting part...I have to limit my time on the computer so I don't obsessively check the status of my apps.
I hope you're enjoying your book!

congrats on b-more! i know you're going to get into higher schools, but the first acceptance is always special.
Thursday, January 29th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
i get it. i originally wasn't going to apply within a four or five hour radius of where i live (in southern maryland), but some friends were harping on me about choosing to leave them. so i threw out an app to catholic, which is a reachy-target if anything, and i decided to tell my parents when they took me to do dinner to celebrate my first acceptance that i applied to a somewhat local school.
my mom's reaction: does this mean that you're catholic?
my father's: if you have class only a few days per week you can live at home and study when we're gone all day.
somehow we'll get through this! and maybe even end up at the same school or in the same area!

Congratulations on your acceptance to Baltimore.
Did they send you a 'received' confirmation a day or two after they got your application, or was your first response the acceptance e-mail? I send my app last Sunday but have not yet heard a response.
Also, we have very similar numbers and target schools. Good luck!

i haven't heard a peep from them, and they haven't cashed my check.

i'm positive you'll get into pacific with a scholarship and a flight offer. maybe we'll meet up on the west coast next month!
ahhh! nervous about seton hall. thinking of visiting them next week.
also nervous about all of these april 15th deposits. how are we going to make a decision by then?! do you want to end up in newark and transition to nyc after school? i like that idea. it's funny how similar our school lists and locations are! hope you get more good news this week!

I only wish FSU would have told me IF I ACTUALLY GOT ACCEPTED OR NOT. Quick turnaround could mean auto-admit or auto-denied .... AAARRRRRRGGGG

If there is a school you should be stressing over, I can tell you it isn't Chapman.

:D YAY!
Baltimore Friday, February 13th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
No worries, call admissions and speak to Claire Valentine. I called to ask about scholarships, and she told me over the phone almost 2 weeks before I got the letter. Your #'s should get u some $$ at UB. Either way congrats on the acceptance! and good luck w the rest.
You didn't rank your schools, who's near the top of your list?

Saturday, February 14th, 2009 at 11:06 am
hey look at that! pacific with $! i knew that was coming for you. congratulations! soooo...legal scholar day? i'd like to go, but it will still end up costing me money. i got the details about reimbursements, and it still looks like the trip would cost a couple hundred dollars because of hotels...still debating. let me know if you decide to go to one!
oh, and... Saturday, February 14th, 2009 at 11:08 am
...how did you hear you were complete at case?
UBalt Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at 12:06 am
The letter of admission is dated 1/8; I received an email notifying me of the scholarship on 1/15 and the letter followed shortly thereafter. good luck
iz all good (UBalt.) Monday, February 16th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Not sure if your from the area, or have had a chance to check out the campus, but I took myself on a self-guided tour and would say with confidence that your not missing much.
YAY Monday, February 16th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
Congrats on Penn!!!

Hey, we've got some similar stats/schools. I somehow sneaked my way into Seton Hall last Saturday via large package in the mail (no $$, however). I also applied to Penn State/Pitt/Rutgers-N/Temple/Case and haven't heard from any of them--read nervousness. Did you just receive the email from PSU? Good luck with your cycle!

Early bird gets... to wait longer? Going down the Rutgers applicant list, it doesn't look like they do much of anything in order. Hang in there! :)
congratulations Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
on all your acceptances and good luck on the rest of your cycle. you are really killing it so far.
Friday, February 27th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
you're kicking butt so far! hopefully this voids any frustrations about no scholarship at b-more...congrats on your awesomeness!
DePaul and the T-Shirt Saturday, February 28th, 2009 at 1:44 am
Oh don't worry. Judging by the date that you got accepted, I would say your shirt should be in the mail in the next few weeks. Mine didn't come until a few weeks after I got admitted. It is a nice shirt though, a little large albeit. Good luck on the rest of your apps!
Penn State Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 at 10:39 am
Congrats on Penn State. That's fast turn around. I'm still waiting to hear from them. We have similar indexes.
How did you hear from them??

Did you decide on Pitt or Case? I had a really awesome visit at Case this past weekend.
