Additional info & updates

I'm a nontraditional applicant (haven't hit the big 3-0 yet, but am too close for comfort). I have over 7 years of work experience and recently completed my MBA at University of Chicago.

01-07-08: Was at work when my mobile rang. Accepted at George Mason. Thank Goodness! I was starting to panic.

01-10-08: Holy sh*t. I can log into the GW admitted students website. I'll call tomorrow to find out if I'm in FT or PT.

01-11-08: Admitted to GW Full-time. Packet on the way.

01-14-08: Got a vm at work: In at Emory - start to believe people! Wonder when they're going to update that status checker....

01-23-08: Status checker went to decision. Received an email from UofI saying a packet was on the way.

01-28-08: Wow, 20K a year from Illinois. given that I'm already in-state, that's crazy.

01-30-08: Got priority mail letter from W&M. In with a Grad Fellowship. Tuition dropped to in-state rate + stipend.

02-05-08: Randomly called BC to ask a question and was told a decision was in the mail to me. It can not be good....

02-06-08: I feel better now-in at Temple with full tuition. Wow.

02-17-08: The past week has been a whirlwind of activity on the application front. In at UVA, Tulane and Michigan (a very good Valentine's day present!). Now, it's just waiting on responses from my remaining schools and financial aid info. I'm also going to try to make it out to some schools to get a more informed opinion.

02-20-08: Email from WUSTL: Full tuition + stipend! I've definitely sat up and taken notice. So, I'm headed to ASW to get a first hand look.

02-25-08 Scholarship letter from GW arrived. It's 20K per year plus housing.

03-11-08: In at Cornell via email. Go BIG RED!!

03-19-08: In at Northwestern via a random check of the status checker. I thought I was supposed to get an email .....

04-15-08: Georgetown status checker went decision. Expecting a WL or Rejection based on recent activity.

04-23-08: $75k from Northwestern via email. They are back in the running.

04-23-08: Withdrew app from Wash U. The full-ride was really, really tempting. But, I think Northwestern, Michigan, or UVA with $$ are better options for me.

04-25-08: WL at Vanderbilt. Plan on withdrawing my app on Monday. Also got a note from Georgetown that I'll get an update on Monday. Could it be that I'll be an admit instead of a WL come Monday? Stay tuned.

yeah i'm pretty well aware of the 170 minimum. i'm spending the summer doing nothing but community college GPA padding and LSAT study what worked best for you?
