Extra Curricular Information

-- Scholarship $ is 3 year total

Been out of college and working for a consulting firm for over 7 years now. That's my "soft" factor and the one I'm hanging my hat on. Sent UGPA explanation addendum pleading for mercy for an admittedly stupid college kid in a doubly hard major (doubled in math & CS) and because of my success in the working world.

ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

5/23 - Waitlisted at Alabama. Admissions Office told me over the phone when I called to ask - they say typically between 5 and 15 people get in off WL.

5/15 - Withdrew from UF on the day deposit was due. Just waiting on Alabama now to decide between it and GSU...

5/7 - After rounds of emails trying to get more information on scholly, I officially withdrew from Franklin Pierce today. It kinda stung because I really liked them a lot... But without either more or a better guarantee of money, it just wasn't worth it overall.
Also breaking my heart is withdrawing from Tulane - the highest ranked school I got into, and my emotional favorite. Ultimately, cost is too high... :(

5/5 - Rejection letter from UNC today. No surprise. But I think they way they waited till May 1 to send out a crapload of rejection letters kinda sucks. I just feel like they handled the cycle poorly. But I'm not an adcomm...

4/28 - Updated my UTK app to be Withdrawn, since I effectively did that by not accepting a position on the waitlist by the deadline.

4/21 - Received the expected rejection from Vandy. Had seen that a decision was made on the 18th via status checker.

4/10 - Rejection letter in the mail from Washington and Lee

3/31 - Rejection letter from Colorado in the mail.

3/29 - Rejection letters from Emory and Cardozo in today's mailbox.

3/24 - Big haul in mailbox today: Accepted to Florida, waitlisted at William & Mary, and received acceptance packet (which I already knew of from email) for Cincinnatti. UC was a backup application before I was accepted to some others, so I emailed to withdraw.

3/21 - Happy Easter! Or is it? Rejected from UGA via status tracker... I'm really heartbroken, and not sure what to do next. Probably going to try begging and pleading (to no likely avail). Also, GSU status tracker finally showed that I was accepted, a mere 10 days after a decision was made...

3/18 - Email acceptance from Cincinnati. Hoping for $ in the mailed letter or else it's not likely I'll be there...

3/17 - Received the expected rejection letter from GULC, and a waitlist from Tennessee with request to indicate continuted interest via their supplied form by April 14.

3/13 - Received acceptance to GSU in mail.

3/12 - Happy birthday to me: finally went to decision at
Gtown. Been expecting that rejection for a long time!

3/10 - Received acceptance and $20K/year scholarship at FPLC.

3/5 - Went to "in review/committee" status at UGA and GSU.

2/29 - Called Emory today to ask why my file was still incomplete, and the (very friendly) lady on the phone said it looked like they had everything for my file. Checked online about an hour later, and I was complete!

2/28 - Received rejection from George Mason.

2/25 - Received rejection letter today from Texas; no
surprise.

2/17 - Home from vacation to find the scholarship package from Tulane ($10K/year), reject from GW, and final rejection from UK.

2/11 - Accepted to Tulane via email, promise of scholarship coming via mail.

01/30 - Received rejection from UK, but emailed them because date of letter was before one of my recommendation letters was sent by LSAC. They agreed to re-review. Not a big chance of a change, but it was extremely kind of them I thought.

UGA is being super-selective this year but you may be okay being in-state. I wish you the best but just don't be too disappointed if it doesn't work out for you. I think you have a great chance at many of your schools. GMU is being retarded this year also! GOOD LUCK!
