Got into Santa Clara Law!!!!!!! Pretty stoked. It is a solid school and I'd be very happy going there. Now, just waiting to hear back from all the other ones.

1-6-09

Denied at Georgia. No worries. Didn't cost me anything.

1-23-09

A great day. Got accepted to UC Law. Very very nice suprise. Definetly one of my top choices, so very stoked about getting in. And they have an awesome basketball and football team. So, that is a nice little extra.

2-1-09

Denied at Boalt Hall. It would have been a miracle if I got in, so I wasn't really expecting it anyway.

2-9-09

UConn said no. Wasn't going to go there anyway.

2-10-09

Loyola Law accepted me. Very happy about that. Another good option. Didn't think I was a lock, so it was a nice suprise.

2-20-09

Waitlisted at Indy. Hmm...wasn't expecting that because my numbers seemed at or above their medians. But, it is all good. I have lots of other good options.

3-1-09

Waitlisted at Bloomington. Was hoping for an acceptance, but at least it wasn't a rejection. 4 more schools left. I should get into Penn State. Fingers-crossed that I can get into at least one of the other 3. Especially hoping for Tulane and Davis.

3-9-09

Waitlisted at Penn State. Seriously Penn State? Whatever...got into better schools anyway. Now the Big 3 (Tulane, Davis, Hastings) are all that is left. Just 1 acceptance...that's all I need.

3-15-09

Visited Loyola Law School. Very cool campus. Has a little bit of a fortress feel about it, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. There were no classes when I went, so the campus was really dead. So, hard to get a feel for the spirit of the school. Might need to go back in April in check it out again.

On another note, I'm having a very hard time making up my mind about which law school to attend. Hopefully hearing back from the remaining 3 schools will help. Right now it is between SCU, Loyola, and Cinci. I'm torn. I want the IP program of SCU, the campus of Loyola, and the ranking of Cinci.

3-16-09

Still waiting...

3-27-09

Rejection from UC Hastings. Wasn't really expecting to get in. Oh well. It is what it is.

4-22-09

Well, I'm all done. Overall, a good admissions cycle. Loyola and Cinci were nice surprises. So was Davis. But, unless Davis or Illinois or IU let me in, I think it is going to be Santa Clara.

6-15-09

I will be going to Indiana University--Bloomington Law School. I got off their wait list and they gave me some money. I'm very happy about how my admissions cycle worked out. My bad LSAT score was pretty disappointing, but I still managed to get into a Top 25 school.

A final note to future readers:

I know how stressful the application process can be. Frankly, it kind of sucks. But, stay positive--things always work out for the best.

Congrats on Santa Clara. I noticecd a lot of your choices were in the SF area. Are you hoping to stay around here?

Congrats!!!

Congrats on Santa Clara!!! We have similar numbers and I am applying to a few of the same schools as you (Tulane, Loyola, and Santa Clara). I will keep an eye on your cycle! Congrats again!

good luck with your applications. I didn't really care to go to Georgia either so at least my first rejection wasn't from a school a really wanted. Hope you get in USF!

Congratulations on Loyola!!! My top pick (next to Irvine). We have similar scores and applied to a lot of the same schools so you give me hope! Good luck!

There are a few things you can do. You can send a letter of continued interest that reiterates why you are still interested in attending their school. Many people also get an additional person to write another letter of recommendation. Also, I don't know if it always helps, but I know some people who have visited the school that waitlisted them, scheduled an appointment to meet with the Dean of Admissions (or some other adcomm person) to discuss their application, the school, etc, and they were offered a seat in the class on the spot. None of the suggestions guarantee that you will get off the waitlist, but they definitely won't hurt you: they can only help.

Wow, I'm shocked you got waitlisted at IU-Indy. If you got a waitlist, that does NOT bode well for me!

haha, I highly doubt they waitlisted you only to give me your seat. But thanks for the dose of optimism! lol

I'm glad someone liked my racial status:) Thanks for the congrats - I am super jealous of your WL at Illi! Good luck with Tulane, I know how hard it is waiting for "The" school.

Umm..

My choice changes everyday? I am visiting them all in the next weeks ... help me out, why do you love Tulane? I've been a northern my whole life, and New Orleans would be a real change.

Good luck!

And thanks.

Thanks for your input, I always enjoy other peoples opinion. And I really hope my withdrawal from Tulane frees up some money for you when they accept you:) Good luck!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on Loyola!!! Will you be going to the Admitted Students Open House on the 17th?

Loyola

If you aren't going to attend Loyola, could you withdraw your app? I'm on the waitlist, and it is my top choice of all my waitlists! And who knows, if I ever actually here back from Santa Clara, we might be classmates this fall! Good luck with your waitlists!
