03-21-08: Received official letter from Santa Clara increasing scholarship to $5,000 / year ($20,000 over 4 years)

03-19-08: Received cryptic poorly written email from Santa Clara saying "While we are able to up your scholarship a little and their may be an opportunity to give you more at a later date, right now it's just not possible". What does that mean? It says they "are able to up your scholarship a little now" - does that mean they *are* offering me (a little) more money? They didn't mention any numbers. I don't get it. This is from the *Assistant Dean*. I would expect clear communication.

03-19-09: Recieved official letter regarding full tuition scholarship from GGU.

03-18-09: GGU responded to my email stating that they changed my scholarship to a full tuition Dean's Scholarship, still need to maintain a 3.0.

03-17-09: Time is running out, decided to send letter to SCU asking them to re-evaluate scholarships based on increased LSAT scores, even though I hadn't heard back from GGU. Also sent follow up email to GGU, asking if they had any info about my re-evaluation request.

03-04-09: Email from Assistant Dean at GGU, forwarded request to Dean. Hope to have response next week.

03-03-09: USF resonded to "re-evaluation request", no more $$$

03-02-09: Sent email to GGU Admissions Coordinator and USF Director of Admissions asking for re-evaluation of scholarship based on increased LSAT scores. Am waiting to send letter to SCU hoping that I will be able to use increased offers from other schools to negotiate in that letter. Got response from GGU suggesting I sent request to Assistant Dean. Sent email to assistant Dean.

02-28-09: February LSAT scores posted. 163. All acceptances and money up to this point based on previous score (158).

02-07-09: LSAT exam at UC Santa Cruz (2nd try)

01-29-09: Attended SCU's, "Early Admitted Student Reception". Felt akward, but had yummy cheese.

I just wanted to wish you good luck from the South Bay Area! Awesome Bay Area schools, I'm sure you will have a great cycle! However, law school might put a strain on your gummi bear savings for a bit.

Good luck from the east bay! I wish you well and yes, I first received notice from USF on the status check that a decision was rendered and a letter was sent to my permanent address. I then received an e-mail alerting me of my acceptance, and I do not think my letter arrived in california yet(still at school). Again, good luck and I am sure you will do well!

I actually got an email and never really checked the status checker. The email said I would get a package in the mail but since I am home for Christmas break I won't get that till I am back at school. Good luck, hope you get an email!

Thanks for the tip about SCU sending their merit awards in a separate letter. I received it a few days after my acceptance packet, just like you said. Also, Congrats on SCU! I'm assuming this is your 1st choice in the Bay Area? You must be excited. :D

What's your top choice?

Cool

Good luck with the Feb LSAT! Personally, I would choose SCU and USF over GGU. I probably wouldn't go to GGU because of the reputation and attrition rate, even if they did give nearly a full scholarship. SCU and USF I would say are relatively equivalent in terms of regional reputation (I prefer SCU myself though). *If* I do get in, I will likely switch to PT after 1L. With my low stats, I won't be in the running for any scholarships. :(

Congrats on your full scholarship to GGU! That is awesome, I hope you enjoy it there!
