thanks for the note; and yes, i'm sure you'll be having a brilliant winter

Still waiting, eh?

How did NYU notify you that you were complete? Or are you using LSDAS data somehow? Virginia and GULC have online status checks (which are awesome) and the others indicate how they'll notify you (they send you email, they respond to your email, they'll send you snail mail -- hey wtf michigan). But I can't find anything on NYU.

not sure if I should reply here or on your post? NYU sent me an e-mail. Yeah, Michigan almost freaked me out when I got the envelope with the complete letter...considering other people have been getting big packets of information when accepted, I thought I was getting rejected already, even though it made little sense.

ummmmmm.

I got the invite to apply via e-mail (about 4 or so weeks after I'd been accepted). I got a phone call from Sarah Zearfoss telling me the award packet was in the mail a few days ago.

Congrats!! Did you get the call on the 23rd, or did you just respond to a voicemail from the 22nd?

Great Job

Congrats to you too. Actually got the Dean's Scholarhsip at Georgetown and something at UVA but withdrew before I found out what the $ number was because I knew I wasn't going to go. So where you leaning for now?

congrats :)

looks like you're doing well on the scholarships [and to think, you were worried..]. i'm a little confused about what is and isn't need-based, as well. but it's funny that, with the same numbers, we also have *exactly* the same need at nyu and cls.. hmph, oh well. good luck on the last few : )

thanks!

yeah, so maybe this isn't the best way to go about it, but a crude process of elimination has been driving my decisions to this point. i'm pretty sure i don't want to be headed for the west coast; i'm not much of a new yorker and the nyu/cls offers were less than harvard's, so that didn't sway me; and i'm not too terribly keen on staying in the midwest, but chicago's reputation for the clerkship route is ridiculous and it sounds like an amazing environment [not to mention i have a lot of family in chicago]. so it's been a combination of feeling/environment and money, so far. i'm not positive where i'll be headed after graduation [from tax or corporate governance policy some days to child welfare policy or p.i. others, seriously] i'm still feeling pretty torn. but from the options [acceptances] and the prices i have right now, harvard's looking pretty tough to beat. then again, a call from new haven could change some of that...

No Problem

Yes I am pretty much set with Columbia. I am currently in New York and love it here. actually withdrew from Chicago before the decision so just waiting on Yale which looks extremely unlikely. Kind of annoying that it has taken so long. Anyways congrats on the money offers. Michigan and GULC are both great (and DC is awesome) so good luck!! Let me know what you decide.

Decision

So my decision is finally made. Got waitlisted at Yale today, looks like you did too. I understand your decision to go to GULC. Loans are a big deal and it is a great school and very good location. You don't want to go to a school and be miserable for 3 years. This is precisely why I chose CLS. I know I'll be happiest in New York and I loved the cmapus and people when I went to visit.
