I think you have been deferred. The WL is very specific: "You have been selected as an alternate for admission to the U of M...We regret that the keen competition for seats in this fall's entering class makes it impossible for us to grant you admission at this time. If you wish to be retained on our wait-list, please blah..."

technically i think i was put 'on hold' until more applications came in. i didn't do anything extra, but in a couple of weeks, i was take off that 'hold' list. what ever happens, don't worry about it. and REMEMBER . if it doesn't work out this time, try again. good luck in your app cycle and thanks for the comment/! :)

congrats on nyls! how does it feel knowing that you are going to law school? enjoy the feeling. since i received my first acceptance i have been losing my hair waiting on the next one. with every acceptance it gets worse. but in a good way. with your second one you will discover how hard it is to choose between schools. i sincerely hope you get into your top choice, and soon, so you won't have to go through the stress of the 'wait.' good luck with the remaining apps.

yeah, i applied back in early feb. i was told that i would hear back by the first week in april. i want this! i hope and pray that i get sponsored by a school-notre dame, illinois, loyola, or kent. at this point those are the only schools i'll take over toledo. i heard that if you get sponsored by a school, they will likely accept you upon completion of the program. you can still get accepted by cleo but it i don't think it has the same weight. if i don't get sponsored i'll just go to toledo and plan my transfer. toledo gave me an amazing offer of tuition, fees, and books for one year. but it's not renewable. :-( hey, i'm going to try and organize a networking opp for this cycles lsn urms. nothing fancy. let me know if you'd be interested.

Congrats on your acceptances. Nah I'm not going to Howard. I would've, but they so kept screwing around w/me. The people in the admissions office are so rude! They also made a mistake rejecting you. Did you let them know they were your first choice? Send me an email and I'll let you know my lsat.

Nope, more like my stupid ego mixed w/loads of temper. Thanks for the kind words though. I hope I will be succesful. I'm 99% sure I'm headed to Tulane. Still, if I got off of the WL at Emory I think I'd really consider their offer. I think that's the only school that could really get me to change my mind. What's your top choice ? Since you got into CLEO do you think that maybe Howard would reconsider your app.? Have you contacted them about it?

Transgressions on LSAT?!? Girl, your score is right on their 25th percentile for the lsat. Your gpa is above their 25th. You should have at least been waitlisted, no joke. I think if you can visit again, do it. You should write them letters, make phone calls, etc. Be polite, but persistent. Tell them you're going to make very good grades at CLEO. Hopefully they'll come around (if they have any sense) and accept you. If not it's their loss, good luck girl!!

I think that the old adage "April showers brings May flowers" is especially true for law school applicants. Applicants' futures are cloudy in April, and they often get rained on. Hopefully things will become clearer in May, and perhaps a few flowers will even spring up. Keep up the good work, and thanks for being the only person in the world who's nice enough to lie to me about how funny my jokes are. Keep in touch. P.S. I am also awaiting a decision from Miami.

Thanks for the info, I have applied to the DASC program at Seton Hall, the SpACE Program at Temple, and I recently got into the TAP program at Widener. I really hope to get into Seton's program, but it doesnt seem likely. However I didnt know NYLS had a conditional program ill haveto look into that. Good luck with all your schools

Congrats on your scholarship at UB. I'm a non-trad student and a splitter - 3.7 GPA and a 150 LSAT. We'll see if I get in this time around - I started really late in this cycle, so if I don't get into UB, my top choice, then I'll start much earlier next year. I live in Rochester, about a 1 hour drive from Buffalo, and I plan to commute so UB is an ideal choice.

Thanks Virtue! I met with the dean as well. She mentioned that they haven't started using the waitlist yet. They need to wait and see how many people send back "intent to enroll" forms. I really, really hope they have a need for us waitlisted applicants! I'm @ UB now and want to stay more than anything!!! I have given the dean 2 letters of continued interest, one of them in person when I met with her to tell her how much I love the school! Wish me luck!!! I think they'll have a good idea if they'll need the waitlist around June 12th. :-)
