Extra Curricular Information

Decent amount of steady volunteer work, and I have worked 25-30 hours a week throughout my degree.

A few academic-related awards, plus a major national scholarship/award last year.

Also landed a pretty impressive summer job.

For the record, my PS is pretty wicked, and very unique, at least I think so.

Additional info & updates

Degree GPA of 3.66 represents my OLSAS GPA, for all the Canadian applicants out there :)

Got my June LSAT score and will be retaking in October. After all my practice testing in the 167-170 range I was pretty shocked to see a 159 (I bombed Reading Comp).

07/24/2008: Got my insane Canadian transcript converted by LSAC, and I'm SO happy it turned out as I had hoped. For what it's worth, in years 1-3 I've got 3.67, 3.73 and 3.93 respectively.

10/04/2008: LSATs, Round two, and all I can say is ...F**k Reading Comp!

10/06/2008: So, Cooley sent me an brocure today in the mail, and I'm thinking it's a bad omen about my impending LSAT score. Ha. Giving serious thought to cancelling my score, uggh.

10/08/2008: I did it. I canceled. I knew it was a bad score and with one behind me already I just couldn't risk it. I'm keeping NYU on there b/c I'm applying to the joint JD/LLB program with Osgoode, so I have to send an app there anyway, even though I probably don't have a chance anymore but whatev...

10/29/2008: Sent in my Ontario apps today. My top pick in Canada is Osgoode and my numbers are sorta close to their medians, so we'll see. Started LSAT preppin' again this week also *sigh* I'm still not giving up!!

11/14/2008: Did two PT's this week, 164 and 166. I'm mildly optimistic.

12/06/2008: LSATs, round three. Feeling a lot better this time about everything except games. We shall see, I guess.

12/29/2008: Got a 163 on my retake! I know its not amazing but I'm happy with it. Went from -10 on RC to -2, but games pretty much owned me this time. Oh well :)

01/23/2009: In at Osgoode, my top pick of the Canadian schools, after several stressful days refreshing that cryptic OASIS page!

02/05/2009: Rejected at U of T. Very much expected.

02/26/2009: WL'd at GW, letter dated 2/20. Expected but sucks, I really wanted to go there. May LOCI this one, not sure.

03/02/2009: NYU ding. No big shock there. Kinda only applied because I wanted to do the joint program with Osgoode. Oh well.

03/05/2009: Fordham rejection via status checker.

03/06/2009: Strange call from Fordham, apparantly they didn't see my new 163 LSAT and had rejected me based on a previous score (159), and are now "Re-evaluating" haha wow.

03/19/2009: BC rejection today, letter datd 3/13.

03/23/2009: Vandy waitlist letter came on 03/20. WL'd at Fordham this time around, via status checker this afternoon.

...Sent out my LOCI to GWU today as well *fingers crossed*

03/27/2009: After THREE days on the waitlist, Fordham accepted me! :S Cool!!!

04/02/2009: WL'd at BU and W&M this week, BU letter was dated 03/20 and just took a while to get here.

04/06/2009: "Hold" email from WUSTL. Clearly no one wants to give me an outright decision lol...I'm going to think about this one for a few days, I'm not sure if I want to withdraw just yet.

04/09/2009: Withdrew from two waitlists and from Fordham today (that one hurt, but I know it's the right thing to do in my circumstances).

Looks like we\'re in the same boat. I was scoring well, but somehow the June LSAT just kicked my butt. Good luck in October!

Fordham is far and away my top choice. After that, it would be Northeastern and Osgoode Hall (due to my love of Toronto). How bout you?
