Good Job!! I am sure you will get more acceptance notifications from other schools.
Congrats on American! I am waiting patiently for info from them...hoping to see an acceptance soon! :) Have a great day!
Yea, after the American package, I bet you were like WTF when you opened the envelope from Chase and read that canned letter. It is pretty hard to leave a bad taste in someone's mouth from an ACCEPTANCE LETTER!...................Chase has to be the first school in history to do so. Good luck with the rest of your cycle, and congrats on American!
No, I still haven't decided yet (I actually still have quite a few schools pending which I have yet to post). The biggest factor for me will be scholarships and financial aid. So I'm going to wait and see what offers I get and then I will decide. Have you decided yet?
Wow. Congrats on American. I wish I was you.
Haha, yea I still have 20 pending! I applied to so many in order to give myself some options, but honestly, UK is really my first choice. They are your first also correct? I truly hope you hear something. It doesn't look like they have been moving to fast in the process thus far. I would suspect they are trying to get a feel of the overall application quality this year. Most people thus far who haven't had the numbers have gotten rejections. So your deferral will hopefully turn into GREAT news later in the cycle. Best of Luck. Hope to see you at UK!
Thanks. I'm trying to stay positive. But man, it's an uphill struggle. I really appreciate the encouragement. And again, awesome with American. Good luck there next fall?!
Thanks for your nice message. At least American makes decisions about the waiting list on a rolling basis, unlike Catholic, which starts moving on March 16.... So far Maryland/American/George Mason were my first options, although American is relatively close to my business and home
thanks! and no, i have no idea where i'm goin and am so stressed about this decision now. i want to go to school in DC more than anything, but my undergrad (michigan state) offered me a full ride today and i'm still looking at $35,000/year at american. congrats on all your acceptances, though. where are you leaning?
I am pretty sure I will be attending UT at this point. I do not think I can turn down the in-state but maybe some other schools might come calling and they will make it very tough...Good luck with your whole cycle...Thanks for the congrats!
hey, tough luck on UK - but I think the additional stuff you sent in will help. if you get in, drop me an e-mail at davidhicks@uky.edu b/c I want to get to know some of my future classmates. good luck, see ya soon.
I just called and asked! I figured the worst they could say was "no".
Congrats on Marquette from a fellow admitted student! I just noticed we're practically number twins and I'm also Hispanic, but I didn't apply to as many schools as you did. Good luck with the rest of your applications!
Don't know- need to see the scholarship offers, if any.
I expect some shock, but thought hey law school shock has to be worse, right? I'm still waiting for UofL to make a move, if I do get accepted, I am definitely visiting to get a feel of the school, but to date, no signs from them yet. I see you have 5 accepted and many other pending schools, are you going to go to your top choice AU? P.S. Being a fellow Californian- export, please share you experience living in the KY area? Anything you miss?
i have no idea where i'm going to end up going. i'm looking to hear from my remaining schools, then make a decision with the info in front of me. thanks and good luck this cycle!
So is that where you have decided to go? What if you end up getting in at UK? I tell you, it will be hard for AU at 35K+ to beat in-state at UK (I am really apprehensive about selling my home).
Hey man, thanks for contacting me...um, to be honest, there really isn't all that much around Hempstead itself...apartments are a lot cheaper than say New York City, but it's not the nicest or most exciting area in the world. There are some bars and stuff, but nothing too nuts...if you're looking for more of a night life/social scene, there are nice areas about 20-25 minutes away like Long Beach and Rockville Center that are nicer and more fun, but slightly more expensive...you'd also need a car. Hofstra is a good law school though, and a very nice campus, my brother just graduated from their Law School. Let me know if you have any more questions, you can shoot me an email too.
I wouldnt get in state at UK, but will get it from IU. UKs a great school, just comes down to $$$
That is ridiculous. I would withdraw out of principle!
They are ridiculous! They really aren't that good of a school. If I were you, I would go with American. They are a MUCH better school anyway. Have you ever visited? The law school at American is awesome, compared to UK's school (could double as a bomb shelther). UK dicked me around for a while this cycle. I got fed up and withdrew not too long ago. Have you ever looked at their Judge/Peer ranking on US news. People apparently don't think too highly of them.
You are doing the right thing! Congrats on American. They have a GREAT program!
and congrats on american. awesome school. as for where to live -- that's a good question. i can vouch for glover park being a great neighborhood (and cheap too). and there's a bus from nearby to WCL (the N line, not sure which number though)! grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and most importantly -- max's best (ice cream store). TO DIE FOR.
yeah, this decision is killing me. i want to be in dc more than anything, and i loved american when i visited...but $57,000 COA per year?? and tuition is going up about 6% each year. i'm not sure i can handle that. but i really, REALLY don't want to spend another 3 years at my undergrad and who knows how many more in michigan after i graduate. i need a life coach to make these decisions for me! it looks like you've chosen american, though. is that for sure? and how are you planning on managing the debt? what were au's selling points for you?
i want to go to school in dc, i want to live in dc, i want to work in dc, but i don't want to pay the money for dc. would i be crazy to take the full ride at msu over american? i have less than a week now, and i could really use some reassurance!
i really can't seem to make up my mind. i have two days to decide, and i really have no idea what i'm going to do...
Haha, when I read your post I started laughing out loud. I guess I'm a little crazy, I know. But truthfully we are all a little crazy for choosing to go to law school in the first place! Best of luck to you man and I'll always be a CAT at heart.
sorry i haven't gotten back to you. i got so stressed by the whole process that i stayed away from law school websites for a while. anyway, i decided to go to michigan state. it's been a couple months now since i decided, and i'm actually happier than i thought i'd be with my decision. anyway, good luck at american!
Thanks so much! Would you mind emailing me with your email address? I have listed mine. I do have some questions. :)
hey - we are applying to similar schools, and we have pretty similar numbers. As I am also in Lexington, UK is my top school too, but it will be an uphill battle getting in - I hear they heavily favor a high LSAT. Anyway, good luck this cycle. I am also applying to American - have you heard good things about it?
