Congrats on SIUC and the $$!
Congrat on SIU. St Louis notified me via regular mail. I am going to try to visit SIU soon, and if I like it I will withdraw at St. Louis.
Hey :) I was digging through my stuff and I can't find anything telling me when I went complete at SLU, sorry! I heard from them via snail mail, and I think the same day I got it I also got an e-mail about admitted students day - which I found before the actual letter. I didn't send them any e-mail but I believe I called the admissions office once to ask if they had reached a decision at one point when I was particularly impatient. Hope you get in, maybe I will see you there!
I didn't receive an email or snail mail of my completion. So I called the admissions office and finally asked my status, and they said they had just received my LSDAS report, and that i would go complete later that day. Hope that helps
Hello, Would you please give me your reasons why you chose SLU over SIUC? I have narrowed my choices to those two schools and have been agonizing over which one to choose. Thanks for your time

With your numbers I'm pretty sure we have similiar scholarships and we are both from IL. With that in mind, the cost comparison is very simple. I will be graduating from SIUC with about $24,000-28,000 of debt. SLU, $90,000-110,000 of debt. SLU is a private institution and can regulate tution as they please. SIUC can also but at a much more consistent rate. As for me, I am unsure whether or not I want to stay in the area, especially St. Louis. From all of the responses of ppl in this same situation, location seems to be the deciding factor. SLU is a very good school, but we are not comparing Yale to SLU. SIUC is in the same league as SLU. I guess I'm choosing SIUC for the simple fact of not having $100,000 of debt over my head when I graduate. Also, I may not want to stay in the St. Louis area. Tell me what you think, or if i'm just blowing hot air!:)
You are very true about paying either $30,000 or $100,000. I think you are in a good situation either way. I thought all of the big firms recruited from Wash U anyway, and SLU and SIUC students get the leftovers...That\\\'s just what I heard!?
I think you made a great choice. I am a little sad that I won't be at SLU, but my heart is in the south.
I will probably go to St. Louis because its the highest ranked school I applied to, plus I won't have to move. I live in St. Louis. Email me if you want to talk more about it. arliecrabtree@gmail.com
Hi -- I didn't get any notice from SLU that my app was complete. I just knew that I had everything in to them some time in January and then I e-mailed them to ask for confirmation that it was complete. They didn't e-mail me back. Instead, they sent me a non-personalized card in the mail with the list of things necessary for a complete file about a month after I think my file was complete. Essentially, then, my notice of admission came about two months after I assumed my file was complete. Best of luck to you. Your numbers certainly suggest that you should be fine for SLU and definitely for SIUC.
