Additional info & updates

Interested in patent law.

The scholarship amounts listed are 3 year totals.

1/08 - Call from Dean of Admissions at UMN notifying me of my acceptance! Definitely one of my top choices.

1/14 - Received official acceptance and scholarship letters from UMN and UI-UC, both in large envelopes. Phone call from UI-UC student--very encouraging and helpful.

1/22 - Call from Dean of Admissions at Boston University. I'm in! She mentioned that my acceptance packet was sent today. I am praying for some $$$. Boston is expensive.

1/24 - Call from Dean Aguilar at Univ. of Utah. He said my acceptance packet would be sent out next week and the admissions committee has recommended me for a scholarship to the scholarship committee, which meets in early March.

2/04 - Received waitlist notification from GWU via snail mail.

2/11 - UW rejection via snail mail--small envelope.

2/13 - In at BYU! Notification sent via email.

3/07 - Even though my cycle is all but over, I still don't know where I'll be heading this fall. I think it will come down to scholarship money...

3/21 - Awarded Technology Merit Scholarship from U of U. Apparently it's a one-time scholarship for the first semester...

3/21 - BYU it is! Go Cougs!

It was so weird, the director of admisisons left a message on my cell phone (I gave the number on my applicaiton) telling me I was accepted and my official letter/materials would be mailed out tomorrow. When did you apply?

Thanks...

I got a call yesterday afternoon - the woman I spoke with said they mailed out letters yesterday, so hopefully one will come your way soon!

Numbers Twin!

Hey numbers twin! Looks like you got all your apps in! You should be gettin some stuff back pretty soon after the new year. I wish my major was engineering, because you get a couple tenths of a point boost b/c of the difficulty! Good luck, and you will be ballin this cycle!

I didn't have a chance to speak to the director and she just left me a message on my phone, but she didn't mention anything about $$$. Hopefully there will be some info in the packet they are sending out today.

CONGRATS!

BYU Info

Hey LSATisEVIL, Noticed that we are both trying to find out how BYU is sending out acceptances as well as applying to 4 other schools that are the same. From what I can tell (going back several years on LSN data) they usually email the scholarship people early in the cycle (dec and early jan) and the rest of them get letters. From what I can tell, BYU might be sending out general acceptances starting tomorrow, though the guy from last night (courgar1) got an acceptance so maybe they are in the mail. Anyway, just my two cents. I am sure with your stats you are a lock at BYU where I would be lucky to get on the waitlist. Here's to hoping for the best!

Email--I know the admissions committee meets on Thursdays...so I had my gmail open all day...and was so happy to see it come in. They said the packet is in the mail.

Status Checker Change?
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Did your online status checker for BYU change from "complete" to "under review" today? Mine did. Guess I will have a decision soon. I will be lucky to be waitlisted. Let me know what happens.

Scholarship answer

My 3/4, or whatever, scholarship is for each year, renewable on the fact that I keep in the top 1/3 of the class. So are you going to BYU?

LSAT question
Sunday, July 22 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hi, you asked me what percentile a 167 is? It is the 95%. I believe the percentiles are the same for every test, they are averaged over many tests, not just each particular test. :-) Good luck, you've had a great cycle, I think. I see you're waiting on scholarship money. I hope that comes through!
