I've heard the URM thing varies at different schools. If you have some hard statements from law schools I'd love to read them (and I'm not being snarky; I genuinely hope you have read stuff i haven't and can point me in the right way). But also I feel kinda justified cuz not only am I hispanic, but URM seems like a good proxy for the admissions boost I'm gonna get from random soft factors (which I'm not gonna get into in super-specific detail on LSN, lol). Could be wrong though. Thanks for your comment!
Were you PT at Duke or just a fee waiver?
Happen to know time between status checker going "under review" to "decision"? Just trying to get a pin on whether or not they are really looking through non-PT apps yet or not.
...my status checker was under review on the 8th of october. However, i got an email with the decision yesterday, and it didn't post to the status checker that they'd mailed out a decision until today :P So that was kinda weird. I'm in the JD/LLM program so maybe they are reviewing those first..

Thanks for your comments and congrats on your acceptances too! I will post my 'softs' when the cycle is done, so stay posted! We'll see how the rest of the cycle turns out, but of course, I'm keeping it realistic.
And yes William and Mary is the oldest law school in the nation. Ahhh I'm surprised you didn't apply! lol

i'm anticipating a rejection from uchicago today as well. we will see when i get home and check the mail :/ alas. still i'm very happy with berk even if i don't get any of HYSCCN. gonna start withdrawing from places very soon.
You still have an EXCELLENT shot at HYSCCN. It's hard to predict where URMs will get admitted to/rejected from. I know a URM who was denied at Cornell and Penn but got into both CLS and YLS. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of the traditional 6 takes you. I strongly believe you won't be going to Berkeley, though it's a pretty amazing worst case scenario, don't you think. GOOD LUCK!

Dude - great cycle! However, when are you going to withdraw from some of these places? Like, are you REALLY still considering Fordham? Someone out there could really benefit from your spot, not to mention that you're killing trees by allowing some of these schools to continue sending you crap. Congrats, good luck with your thesis, and good luck with the rest of your cycle! BTW - are you going to Berkeley's ASW? Hope to see you there!

$99k from Cornell is amazing! In this unpredictable economy, taking out a boatload of loans is a risky idea. Are you finished with your thesis yet? How's that going? Also, are you attending Berkeley's admitted student weekend? GL on HYSCCN! I strongly doubt you won't get in. On hold/deferred at Columbia or Chicago means you were yield-protected--they probably think you're getting into one of their peers (or better). It's not like a waitlist where they'll get back to you in the middle of the summer (if that). I hope you wrote some pretty strong LOCIs! GL!

Did you just go to decision pending at UofC? A bunch of TLSers previously on hold just went to DP. If so, you better stay close to your phone amigo! GL!
