Additional info & updates

Wish I would have found this site sooner...but I will attempt to keep a log for all those that are interested.

Also feel free to ask questions and leave comments. It will make the waiting easier....

2/26/2009: Letter in the mail from Seton Hall telling me they were reviewing my application. Was such a tease, so I gave them a call to see where my application was, they said 2 weeks for a decision.

2/27/2009: Let my anxiety get the best of me and gave Pace a call to see where my application was in the process. They said I just hit the 4th week after my interview and that I should hear within the next 2 weeks.

3/4/2009: I withdrew from Barry, Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Cooley. I hope it helps someone get off their waitlists!

3/11/2009: Ding at St. John's...blah

3/12/2009: Hamline waitlisted me, are you seroius? Going to withdraw anyway. This game is silly...

3/16/2009: In at Pace! Got an e-mail offering me congratulations on admissons and inviting me to the annual Diversity Dinner! Now have to see what type of money they will be offering when I get the snail mail version.

3/17/2009: Ding at Villanova. But really on my birthday?! Pretty sure you should be a bit more kind to your alumni.

3/18/2009: Wake Forest status checker: Current Status: Decision Letter Pending....

3/20/2009: Wake sent the decision letter

3/23/2009: No money from Pace :(

3/26/2009: Ding at Wake

4/9/2009: $4,000 per year from Pace, I guess I must have missed it i the Financial Aid package!

4/11/2009: Seton Hall said they hate me too...but it is a moot point right now.

Request for help:
I am currently attempting to pick between Pace and University of St. Thomas. If anyone could give me some insight as to these schools benefits I would be grateful!

Congrats on your acceptance at UST. What kind of scholarship did you receive from them?

Tuesday, September 16 2008 at 08:00 PM

Being from Minnesota, which school would you reccomend more UST or Hamline? I'm going to visit next month to check out Hamline. UST may be a long shot but I'm suppose to hear from them within the next 2 weeks.

Good job on NY law school. Is this part time or conditional? NY law school is a great school. I agree that this game is silly. It is quite unpredictable.

Congrats on Pace! That's the school I am shooting for! I anticipate that I will be attending their diversity dinner as well, even though I haven't received word yet! Maybe we will meet!

Yes, I interviewed with Mark, one of the admissions counselors. I thought the interview went quite well. That is why I was so disappointed when they decided to defer my decision. I couldn't take the wait, so I called yesterday and they advised me that my file is still on hold and no decision has been made as of yet. This news was so disturbing to me that I applied to Widener as a safety school. I have to start in the fall! I am trying to keep my hopes up but as the days go by I become more and more desperate for an acceptance! lol BTW: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hey there, that is very nice of you to say! I am really hoping to turn some of these waitlists into acceptances. I hope the schools see that as well! You have some excellent acceptances, congrats! Which schools do you like the most out of the ones you have been accepted to? I can speak for Washburn because I have lived in Kansas my whole life. It is a great school, very respected in the state of Kansas, along with Missouri and Oklahoma. Lots of our local lawyers and judges came from Washburn.

I see its your birthday!

Hey! Thanks for the vote of confidence! I just received an acceptance today from Pace via mail! WOW! I am over the moon! Good luck in the fall!

Congratulations on Pace! You've got eight schools to choose from! That's amazing. I am still waiting, but I think I am going to put down the deposit on Pace soon. I would go to Pace if I were you, only because you might meet me there. JK! ;-)

I didn't get any either! I was hoping for some diversity money! I am thinking if they would have decided on me sooner I would have received some (I applied in November). I am just so happy to get accepted. Now it's time to show and prove! Good luck! Any idea yet where you will be attending? Will you be present at the ASR on April 22nd?

Yes, I will definitely be in attendance on the 22nd. I am also scheduled to attend the diversity dinner on the 31st.

I have been fixated on Pace ever since law school started becoming a realization. I have been to numerous events which allowed me to meet many students. It was important for me to meet people who were in the PT program and had kids and work obligations. I was able to meet more than a few! It's a beautiful school, with a very small class (which I love, I don't like getting lost in a crowd). The faculty is amazing! It felt like a comradery more so than a school, everyone was working side by side. I got the feeling that there are very few people in that school who would pounce on you to get ahead, instead, I got the vibe that they will hold your hand and stay at the same pace...(no pun intended...lol). I live about an hour and 10 minutes away...which is still a bit far, but the closest law school to my house. I wish I had the opportunity to live on campus, but unfortunately I made my life before my career. I have to play with the cards I dealt! There are not many Hispanics at all!!! I think there is real opportunity for us in there. What nationality are you?

congrats on the scholly!

Palma, that letter would be great! YOu can send it to the email address I provided, or if you prefer we can meet at ASD and you can give it to me there! I really have to work out my financials right now...I am so nervous! Hey if you go to Pace, we will end up classmates!

St. Thomas v. Pace
Monday, January 05 2009 at 07:00 PM

I don't know much about St. Thomas, however, I see that you are currently residing in Minnesota, so it would reduce the stress of moving, finding a place, finding work, being away from family...etc. You would also pay in state tuition, right? Hard decision to make...good luck!
