It's mostly my personal aversion to living in Gainesville for 3 yrs. That's why I didn't go there undergrad. Also, Stetson has an amazing Trial Ad program and that's where my interest is having done Mock Trial for yrs. That being said, I'm almost definitely rejecting both for a school in the N.E.

Congrats!

Ronaldo, Glad to see you got into WCL. I visited and I love it there, but alas, no tengo dinero. Best of luck.

It's definitely after April 1st.

Howard

I have no idea why I got rejected from Howard. My GPA and LSAT both well exceed their 75th %. My extracurriculars and LORs were all strong. They sent me a vague letter about their admissions decisions being made on both objective and subjective matters. Maybe it's b/c I'm not Black? I was never seriously considering them anyhow.

fin aid

I got almost exactly the same aid from WCL as I did Hofstra, except Hofstra gave me more in loans and WCL gave me more in grants. RW gave the most money by far.

Anyone attending WCL drop me a line.

Thanks for the kind words!

joining you there in the fall

off the WL

I was placed on the Priority waitlist a couple months ago. I really didn't do much. Had a 3rd letter of rec sent from a prof that I've worked with in the past. Sent an updated resume. Nothing else I can think of. I figure I was high on the waitlist, though they claim not to rank. They likely took my 2nd LSAT since I attached a pretty convincing addendum, with doctor's note. Also graduated with 2 majors in 3 yrs.

Fee Waivers
Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

I am applying for the fall 2006 class. i was just wondering when the merit based application fee waivers start coming in the mail? I saw you got plenty, and was just wondering if it is advantageous to delay sending out my apps in the Fall to see if i get some fee waivers. thanks for the help and good luck at American! -Jed, Stuje1

merit fee waiver

You will likely get many fee waivers throughout the Fall semester. It helps if you contact them and they have your stats. Most I didn't use because I had no interest in the school. A lot of it comes from LSDAS registration. If you really want a fee waiver from a specific school contact them, otherwise just apply to your top schools and wait for the rest to come. Each school sends them pretty much at random times. I was still getting a few in Spring!

congrats on Mason!

Wow, you got into Mason! Congrats! They are very strong--particularly in DC (I myself really like DC and had been considering W&M Law's acceptance--I think that area is just prime for legal history)! Is that where you're going?

where will you live

I see you're attending American with I presume a scholarship? Congrats! A cousin of mine went to American and he's doing quite well--has a nice job where he gets to travel all over the place. Definitely, AU has the ideal location in terms of legal history. Have you decided where you're going to live yet (deposit, etc.,)? It's a really nice area (DC/NoVA/MD).

scholarship
Sunday, September 04 2005 at 08:00 PM

I did get a scholarship to American, though it won't cover even half of one year's tuition. To tell you the truth, I might have gone even without a scholarship. It's a great school in an amazing city. I'll be living in Adams Morgan. To yahoo3: I'll be attending American. George Mason has a fine law school, but the emphasis on economics is somewhat of a turnoff for me. Also, American has an amazing reputation for excellence in International Law and getting its students some of the best internships in the country. Congrats on W&M. It's a very good school and I probably should have applied.

RW offered me $20,000 per year, renewable with a 3.0. I thought long and hard before turning that much money down. Suffolk and Northeastern also offered me a lot.
