Additional info & updates

1/19/10: Elated to receive first acceptance from Seattle University. (And will temper the blow from any subsequent rejection notices.) Received a $9,000 merit award, renewable if I maintain status in the top 25% of the class.

1/20/10: Waitlisted at American via email. :-/ Something about it seemed a bit less personal than opening a letter. Then again, I prefer cashier to self-checkout.

1/27/10: University of WA changed the status of my application to "In Review," as of yesterday. All good karma is welcome.

1/27/10: Waitlisted at George Washington, received the letter in the mail today.

2/5/10: Admitted to University of Arizona, via status checker. I was so happy to have positive news that I cried a little...not gonna lie. 2/13/10 received the packet in the mail.

2/8/10: Admitted to Lewis and Clark! I am positively and absolutely excited beyond all belief. In my packet was a scholarship offer for $8,000 per year (merit award), automatically renewable providing I maintain a 2.95 average.

2/20/10: Waitlisted at Washington and Lee. Their letter was very friendly, but I am going to withdraw from further consideration. I am a bit surprised that none of the schools have ranked waitlists.

3/18/10: Realized I had been accepted to UC Davis, as a result of an email inviting accepted students to the preview event in April. I went to the UC Davis website to view my acceptance letter via the status checker, and the letter is dated 3/12.

3/20/10: Just returned from spring break to receive my first rejection letter (postmarked on the 10th). Silly Cornell!

3/27/10: I have (publicly) decided to attend Lewis and Clark in Portland, Oregon. Any potential peers please feel free to send a message my way-- I would love to begin getting to know you!

3/29/10: Sadly rejected from UW, but there were no tears. In the spirit of the South, UT is still taking its sweet time. Seat deposit has been paid and processed at Lewis and Clark.

4/05/10: Finally, the law school admissions process is over for me! Rejection from UT, as expected. Will be moving to Portland in the summer.

I just wanted to say good luck with your applications process. We have applied to some of the same schools. Maybe we'll be classmates! :) I'll be interested to know where you end up!

Thanks and good luck to you

Hey Tree Lover-- Thanks for the well wishes. Congrats on an awesome resume. Looks like we had similar priorities in UG. I hope you make it to your top choice too.

Yes, I would love to meet up if we end up at the same school, or even if you come out to the Pacific Northwest to visit. :) Good luck!

Good luck to you too!

Thanks for the best wishes. Same to you. I haven't received my Seattle packet, so I hope I get a decent scholly offer like yours. Looks like you're shooting for the PNW? Best of luck!

Although I applied all over, I'll probably settle in the PNW (unless I get an offer I cannot refuse). I just love the atmosphere there despite the rain which does not bother me at all. I have a few friends out in Texas, and I can relate to the "differences." It's nice to meet a fellow reverse-splitter. I'm pulling for ya!

Good luck!

Thanks

Thank you! I wish you all the best as well. I have been quite frustrated by this process. I hope we both get what we want in the end!

Congrats!!!

Congrats on the generous scholarship from L&C! :) I'll be interested to know where you end up. Let me know if you end up visiting Portland or Seattle!

I dunno...

To answer your question, I'm still not sure whether I'm leaning more towards SU. I crunched some numbers and the prices all seem pretty comparable. I LOVE Seattle and I'm not as fond of Portand. If I like Eugene, I may seriously consider U of Oregon. SUCH a hard decision!

Hi There....I saw you were W/L to W&L. Did you get your letter on the 20th, or was the decision made on the 20th? My decision was made on the 19th, but I haven't rec'd my letter. Any help would be awesome

Seattle

Congrats on your acceptance to Seattle, Lewis & Clark, and U of Arizona! Where are you leaning towards? I was also wait listed at AU - what made you withdraw from their WL? Anyway, I'm leaning towards Seattle at the moment pending an acceptance off the UC Berkeley wait list - so maybe I'll see you there in the fall!

Got it!

Got your message - just sent a reply. Thanks for the response!

I just wanted to offer congrats on your acceptances. I lived in Texas for several years and my parents are still in Austin, so it's cool to see someone else from the state possibly making it out to the Pacific NW. Good luck with everything! Maybe we'll be classmates at Seattle U

L&C?

Darn. Sounds like Cornell passed on a winner. Are you going to matriculate at Lewis & Clark? Unless something radical happens with the Berkeley waitlist, I'm headed to Ithaca. Conversely, t seems the West Coast didn't have any love for me in this cycle :-P Good luck with UT and UW.

Good Luck!

Good luck at L&C. I'm sure you'll love it there. I've pretty much decided to stay in Seattle, but L&C is very tempting. Have a great 1L year! :)
