Additional info & updates

Nov 9 - In at GULC.

Nov 15 - Accepted to Michigan Summer Start - yay!!! Nice packet with blue binder/envelope thing and a video, handwritten note from the Dean :)

Week of Nov. 13 - phone interview with Harvard. Seriously? :) Hope it means something similar to what it did last year...

Nov 21 - In at Boalt. Seriously. :) Yay!!! Dream come true.

Nov. 22 - In at Harvard. I actually cried when I heard.

Dec. 11 - In at NYU. Hooray for the purple folder! The thing that scares me about NYU is cost of living. Has anyone checked out their on-campus housing. Yikes!

Dec. 21 - In at UPenn via phone call :)

Dec. 22 - Full Darrow at Michigan. Nothing like a $120,000 Christmas gift to bring home to my family. I still can't believe, and this is going to make decision time MUCH more complicated.

July 30 - guess I should update this with final decision stuff. So, I ended up choosing Harvard and deferring a year. I decided on HLS because I loved the school, loved the opportunities available, and really loved Boston. And yes the "It Factor" was part of it - how many girls who grew up on welfare in a trailer park get the opportunity to go to Harvard Law School? In any case, I'm happy with my decision. I turned down the An-Bryce at NYU (REALLY REALLY hard decision - such a phenomenal program, great opportunities, and a full tuition scholarship) and the Darrow at Michigan. But...I'll get some grants at Harvard and am looking forward to the (cold) northeast.

Well, it looks like we're the first to apply at our respective schools. Your numbers are better than mine though so hopefully they'll look at my app first, haha. Good luck this cycle.

Congrats on Michigan...

And good luck on your call! (BTW, what's your top choice?) I'm actually traveling right now, so all my mail is on hold, but I'm looking forward to going home to check for a Michigan decision. =)

Thanks!

I have no doubt that you have as much or more good news coming your way. It was exciting to get two pieces of such good news on the same day! Thanks for the support, fellow stresshead!
