on June LSAT...
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the 179 Mike! It looks like you'll have your pick of the litter.;)

west coast...
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks Mike.:) Considered some Cali schools, but decided I'm really an east coast type of gal in the end; plus, the family is here and all.;) But the weather alone makes it very tempting...

Kudos again
Tuesday, February 21 2006 at 07:00 PM

Can you say "Clean sweep in the making"?

Good Luck!
Sunday, July 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the great LSAT score. Any special hints? The acceptances are going to come rolling in.

UVA over YS?
Friday, July 21 2006 at 08:00 PM

I've got a pretty strong affinity for UVA in general, and I certainly wouldn't mind spending three years in a more relaxed learning environment. With that said, and depending on money, if I were offered a spot at YS, which is pretty unlikely, it would certainly be a difficult decision...I'll just assume it won't be a decision I'll be forced to make.

Good luck!
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

Though you don't need much of it with your credentials. Are you hoping to stay on the West Coast or thinking to brave the east coast weather?

THANKS!
Saturday, May 20 2006 at 08:00 PM

I think I did better this time around; best of luck on your cycle dude!

East Coast
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm sure if I lived in sunny california I would also have a hard time justifying moving. As it is I'm from Chicago, the weather can't get much worse than there but I love that City so that's where I would like to end up. I like both UChicago and Northwestern and in Chicago they have roughly the same reputation so either one would be fine.

No Luck required..
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

You are gonna do great! Good Luck anyway though!

=)
Thursday, March 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

HLS. no way im getting in there because people with your numbers will kill me :(

re: has hls requested...
Wednesday, May 31 2006 at 08:00 PM

no! they sent me an e-mail saying they had gotten my app and had requested my report, but they have not actually requested it yet. it's comforting to know you're in the same situation because it was beginning to worry me. good luck on your cycle! -s

Thanxs & GL
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for leaving my 1st comment. Good luck to you on this cycle too, although with your stats you don't really need it .

NYU?
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey Mike- Why no NYU? Fee waiver snub? -k

bic
re: NYU
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

If didn't apply to a school because of a fee waiver snub, I'd only be applying to Michigan, lol. You should feel pretty confident about your HYS chances (easier said than done, I know). I am applying to NYU. Chicago, actually, is quickly moving up my personal rankings. We'll see what happens.

NYU Fee Waiver
Wednesday, November 02 2005 at 07:00 PM

Hey Mike, I remembered that you, like me, got the NYU snub first time around. I just wanted to let you that mine just popped up on LSAC for no apparent reason, so you might want to check! Good luck! :-)

One month later...
Wednesday, November 02 2005 at 07:00 PM

Why, it appears I haven't bothered scrolling down my LSN page for the entire month of October... A belated thanks for the support, nevertheless! As for the west coast, I dunno -- I don't have the GPA for Stanford. On top of that, I'm interested in international law, but my understanding is the western schools focus more on Asia than on Europe and Africa. Though that's probably better for jobs (Asian century and all), it's not my preference right now. Plus, I'm a masochist for cold weather. Anyway, good luck! You're my bet for the first admit to YLS Class of 2010!

Good Luck
Friday, April 21 2006 at 08:00 PM

with your cycle! I'm sure you'll be hearing from Georgetown soon.

Thanks!
Saturday, September 23 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the well wishes. I would wish you good luck but you hardly need it. Congratulations on all of your future acceptances!

Congrats in advancw
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

On Michigan! I got my letter today, and we're both in Cali, so I'm sure you'll get yours post-haste. Good luck this cycle!

Congrats!
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Mike, you rock! Congrats! May both of our cycles continue to be good news from here! I'm sure you'll be hearing from Harvard already - they probably bypassed faculty review for you :)

CONGRATS!
Tuesday, November 21 2006 at 07:00 PM

So happy for you -- congrats on Harvard!!

Congratulations on Harvard Mike! That's really fast turn around from your interview. Is Harvard your top choice?

Re: Boalt
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks Mike. Got the call on Thursday. My gf has gotten into all the schools I have, only earlier... We plan to visit Boalt on the 13th, maybe we will see you there. We both like Michigan a lot, but Harvard is Harvard... We'll see. Good luck with the rest of your apps!

You are a stud, good luck as you attempt to sweep this admissions cycle.

Top Choice
Sunday, October 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hi mike. My top choice (and definite reach school) is NYU. Wish me luck; I'm holding my breath right now. Congrats on the great acceptances.

Congrats on Stanford!
Sunday, December 03 2006 at 07:00 PM

I think Michigan might be at the top of the list right now. I don't really know that much about Boalt...if only that info packet would come.

Thursday, May 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

what are your top three schools at the moment? Feel free to PM me on LSD if you don't wanna post it, im just curious though.

Congrats :)
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yep, these are my somewhat grudging but very sincere congratulations on Stanford (not to mention all the other ridiculously amazing schools that've accepted you already). So what /are/ these amazing diversity factors, really?

Stanford
Tuesday, September 26 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your admission! If you don't mind my asking, how long did it take for the admissions package to get to you? I got in yesterday and am still in disbelief that this is real!

SLS
Tuesday, September 26 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks, Mike! It's definitely one of my top choices and I couldn't be more excited. I'm eagerly awaiting the package.

Thanks!
Wednesday, March 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

I definitely need some luck for some of my schools :) And good luck to you as well, if you need any more of it :))

Thanks mike!
Friday, April 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

You're such a sweetheart. Congratulations about the Darrow! That is fantastic. So I know there are still a few biggies for you to hear back from, but do you know where you're leaning? Are you waiting to find out about scholarships? Congratulations, again. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy....

Stanford Package
Tuesday, September 26 2006 at 08:00 PM

Just got it--thanks for your message earlier! Certainly calmed my nerves.

Harvard
Saturday, June 24 2006 at 08:00 PM

The odds are pretty high for me too! Location and $ will also figure in bigtime as well though, so definitely not for sure. (I am pretty sure we went to the same school for undergrad by the way..) :-)

Congrats on Penn...
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

Nice job Mike! Only three schools left.

Feelin' the Love.
Sunday, May 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

I completely believe in the love, and you absolutely can hear it in her voice; that woman just comes off as incredibly real. I remember you mentioning something about your SO possibly needing a larger city for employment in a thread, I just spaced it. :) Hopefully y'all can work something out!

Thanks
Thursday, August 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

After the first score I think my mom was actually kind of shocked. I forwarded the e-mail from LSAC with just, "I knew I could do better than 167..." She was pleased. ; )

congrats...
Saturday, July 15 2006 at 08:00 PM

on all your success so far! your "softs" make me think you'd be a fascinating person to have dinner with. if we end up in the same city some day, my treat: ) see you around!

Congrats!
Saturday, September 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

You're the most impressive candidate that I've seen. Congrats and good luck on the rest of the cycle!

I appreciate
Thursday, June 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

The kind words. That they come from LSD's resident rockstar is all the more flattering. You've got the good grace to compliment your outstanding achievements, and you're one of those rare few who are already at the top and yet I can't help but root for your continued success. In answer to your question, I went into this cycle with three schools on my mind and in my heart: Penn, Michigan, and Virginia. Penn and Michigan have both done a great deal to help me make up my mind - though in opposite ways - but I won't commit to anything without visiting prospective schools. I already know I'm going to give everything I have during my time at law school, and I want to know I'm in a place where I feel a similar commitment from the faculty and school. The short answer though? Yeah, Michigan is looking _extremely_ good and it's made all thebetter by my initial desire to go there. How about you? I sense you're interested in something more grand than simple institutional happiness...are Stanford and Yale your primary targets?

FTS
Thanks!
Thursday, July 06 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm leaning toward Stanford, but many of its pros are also its cons (small size, west coast, great clinical programs, but I'm more interested in ones at Mich and Harvard). How about you?

Thank you
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

I would love to go to Michigan but I don't think it will happen since my husband already accepted a position in Chicago. So my best bet will be to bargain with NU and/or UChicago and see what happens. Congrats to you on the Darrow as well. With all your awesome acceptances so far I don't know how you will make your final decision :)

Wow
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the UofM $$! Free ride to one of the greatest law schools, sounds like a good deal to me. Of course the other acceptances are great too.

impressive
Thursday, January 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey you have gotten into my two dream schools. I'm taking the LSAT in FEB. Any advice to the studying process and application procedures? thanks and best wishes.

You are fun to watch!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I enjoy watching your cycle , and I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for your last three.

Well...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

The most cowardly of reasons: I didn't think my soft factors were nearly impressive enough to set me apart from the masses with my numbers. I also thought Harvard was enough of a reach (which appears to be quite true), though, in retrospect, Stanford might have been a better pick. In any case, Chicago is probably my top choice.

Yale!
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congratulations! I'm pretty sure I predicted this.;) You've got a tough decision ahead of you!

Congrats
Monday, June 05 2006 at 08:00 PM

on HYS and the rest. 3 more years in Palo Alto?

on Penn
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, Penn has been my goal since before I took the LSAT, so I'm definitely leaning toward it, depending on $ of course.

Yaaaaay!
Thursday, August 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

Although, like everyone else on LSD, I'm still hoping for vindication by way of the Hamilton. :)

NU
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

I don't know about yp, but it is a bit disappointing. We interviewed in Chicago, and I thought we made it clear that we really love Chicago and would give them fair consideration should we be offered admission. In any case, I can't complain. Oh, btw, congrats on Yale! I just saw that. Dude you rock.

bic
Congrats, friend!
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm in awe. Congrats on such an amazing cycle and Yale. Now, if you decide not to use either Yale or Stanford, go ahead and pass them off to me. Pay it forward, right? Hope to see you at Harvard's March Admit Weekend!

Congrats!
Friday, December 22 2006 at 07:00 PM

Looking good for a clean sweep! So...which school will have the lucky "A" next to it?

first choice?
Saturday, July 15 2006 at 08:00 PM

I have no idea what mine is. as to teh west coast question, I don't really see myself as a california gal. Berkeley was mildly impulsive but is gaining favor, and UCLA has the Williams Institute. Think you'll be able to transplant yourself come August?

Hammie
Monday, July 10 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yeah for CLS and the Hammie! You are a superstar!

CLS & Hamilton
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats!!! Everyone wants you! haha

congrats!
Saturday, December 09 2006 at 07:00 PM

i also am a hamilton scholar. how has the scholarship changed your thought process? thinking about columbia more? i'm really torn..

Thanks!
Wednesday, June 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey man, thanks for the kind words. Again, congrats on all your success, and good luck deciding where to attend.

Hmm
Tuesday, December 21 2004 at 07:00 PM

I find it comical you haven't gotten into UofC yet. Soon, though, you have that long-awaited clean sweep. Congrats on Columbia, even with the essay! I love it.

nice
Tuesday, October 17 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the sweep! Any idea where you'll be heading? With HYS and the Darrow and Hamilton you've got a tough decision.

Yay Mike!
Wednesday, June 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

Great job on the sweep! But now where will you go???

stanford stanford, here i come..
Saturday, December 09 2006 at 07:00 PM

i think you'll have a wonderful time there. i'm talking to a SLS friend right now, and she's making a really good sell! still not convinced i can turn down 132k. but i'd welcome any convincing arguments apart from location and the san fran ladies (already thought of those two :)

how to choose?
Friday, August 25 2006 at 08:00 PM

so i'm making a similar decision (darrow vs hls) to a few you're going to have to make... any ideas?

Aw, thank you...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

You are sweet, and I hope you're right.

hey
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Mike, you totally PWN3D this cycle and I'm so happy for you! I miss you on LSD tho :-( ~MCB

stmt of purpose
Thursday, December 21 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey Mike, I am curious about how you said you submitted a pstmt, stmt of purpose, and diversity stmt to every school. I've done that when the school said to submit the stmt of purpose as well, but I haven't otherwise. I am working on the MN app now, and it says to write a personal stmt including why you want to go to MN. This is frustrating me because I really like the personal statement I have, and it doesn't seem to flow as well when I include the reasons I want to go to MN. Anyway, I guess I was just wondering what your advice would be on this. Is this an instance where i could submit a separate stmt of purpose? Or do you think I should definitely just combine it all into my personal stmt? Sorry for the long winded question! You seem to know exactly what you are doing in this process, so I thought you'd be a great source!

Oh, thank you sooo much!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I am pretty sure I'll go to Harvard, unless I get a really bad vibe when I visit. I feel a little guilty about making such an obvious choice, but also very excited. I think I would have a wonderful time at Harvard.

Thanks!
Tuesday, December 21 2004 at 07:00 PM

Haha, we'll see, Yale is taking its time to let me know one way or the other. Top choice is likely Harvard though either way... how about yourself? Congrats on UofC btw. I knew it'd come through sooner or later.

You were right
Sunday, December 10 2006 at 07:00 PM

You're predictions for my cycle were right on target. I'm a little disappointed that you moved down to 6 on the top users list... Congrats again, and I will see you at the Harvard ASW in a few weeks.

Thanks Mike!
Wednesday, June 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

Nice seeing you too! Enjoy choosing H vs Y vs S!

HELLO!
Saturday, March 03 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hi, First, I would like to congratulate you on all your acceptance. I read your extra. cirr. list and it is very impressive. I am very involved in the community and graduated UW with a 3.59. However, I did poorly on the LSAT and need to retake and reapply. I know that your. prob. get asked this a lot, but it would be great if you could help me by providing me with some of your studying tips, how did you study for the exam, what did you do that helped and didnt help your score, etc. Thank you so much!!!

hey
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

What's up Mike?? You;ve been so MIA, I've missed you on LSD. Thanks for the CLS congrats. I'm still in a bit of shock over it. I'm leaning towards CLS as entertainment law is an option that I'd like to keep open, and they have lots of courses in that area as well an a journal and clinic. Plus, the idea of having a double ivy pedigree is appealing to the prestige whore inside of me! But I'm visiting Mich, UVa, and CLS and hopefully, the visits will cement the choice.

yls
Wednesday, May 31 2006 at 08:00 PM

hey, thanks for the congrats. i'm really undecided right now, especially after coming back from a lovely weekend in ann arbor. yls has been my dream school for quite a while, but money is a huge concern for me as i want to do public interest. i'm going to wait until i hear about financial aid and finish my visits.

wow
Wednesday, January 31 2007 at 07:00 PM

That is really all I can say. Very impressive profile and I really dig your humble attitude.

hys fin aid
Friday, September 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Mike - is the yls grant really so bad when you take into account sls's cost of living? I'm in a vaguely similar situation: smaller loan burden from SLS, but will the estimated student budget go as far in Stanford?

well well
Tuesday, January 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

You are practically perfect in every way! You had an amazing cycle...congratulations. I know what you mean about not wanting to leave CA. Unless I get an offer that I cannot refuse (which I doubt), I'm staying in CA forever! Good luck with your difficult choice!

Stanford
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey. I haven't been around much, but congratulations on all your financial aid awards. Will you be at SLS's ASW? If so, I'll see you there. k

bic
ASW
Thursday, July 06 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, I was much too timid about meeting folks at Harvard - I stuck with the same people pretty much the entire time. I plan to be a lot more outgoing over the next few weeks. I'll see you (and actually introduce myself) in Cali :-)

Undecided
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

I guess we are undecided. I'd say it's between CLS, NYU or Harvard at this moment. (Of course, we haven't seen SLS yet.)

bic
Thank you!
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

And congrats to you on Stanford, that's some very pretty money! I actually will be attending Yale's ASW! They gave me some plane money and are letting me stay w/a student. Shall we see each other there? :)

Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

yep, just friended you (I think anyway...)

Thanks!
Friday, April 21 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks Mike! I think it's between NYU and Michigan at this point. My bf had an interview at Mich's dental school last week, so we'll see... How about you?

great acceptances
Thursday, January 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

hey great numbers and great acceptances. how did you study for the lsat and for how long? any advice for the lsat or the application process? thanks.

hey!
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats, it's great to be settled and done with this process. So are you settled on SLS??? You had an amazing cycle! I wish we shared an ASW though!

HLS
Thursday, July 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

It was very close between Harvard and Stanford, but in the end, Harvard won out. I think I would have been happy at either school, but M really wanted to be on the east coast. So are you attending SLS for sure?

bic
Columbia
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

I have indeed picked CLS. I'm happy with my decision, although it was hard turning down Penn, which is where I'd always envisioned myself. But the opportunity to be in NYC and the school itself really grew on me. Good luck over the next three years!

Congratulations!
Sunday, July 02 2006 at 08:00 PM

You gave me great advice on a personal statement some months ago. I want to congratulate you on your fantastic cycle and wish you the best at Stanford.

Congrats to you too!
Tuesday, September 26 2006 at 08:00 PM

I wasn't able to make the ASW, but I'm looking forward to seeing you around campus. I visited in March and just loved it!
