Extra Curricular Information

scholarship money is per year.

secretary, phi sigma tau (philosophy honors society)

other than that, not much.

i transferred out of some hippie college in vt that didn't calculate a gpa. lsdas did, though, and my freshman year brought down my ugpa. i don't know which one (ugpa, or degree) law schools will take the closer look at, but at least i have an upward trend in my favor.

also, i updated my gpa's to reflect a 3.8 from the fall semester. i went complete a long time ago, but i figured i might as well send my transcript to lsac (which just updated the ugpa), and i also sent individual transcripts to the rest of the schools to add to my file.

Additional info & updates

big envelope came today from bc! early notifcation, non-binding, worked out for me. this has been my top choice on and off, so i'm RELIEVED.

1-9-08
phone call from cardozo about acceptance and scholarship money.

1-10-08
umich status checker says decision. not expecting a good one from here, but, eh, it was worth a shot.

2-08-08
Rejected from GW. Thin, white envelope. Blah.

02-15-08
rejected from fordham. via online status checker. i'm not going to lie--that hurt.

3-21-08
award money from brooklyn. hm. also, unexpectedly, waitlisted at american.

3-26-08
sent in withdrawals to northeastern, cardozo (couldn't figure out how to do temple). sent in multiple deposits to bc and brooklyn (brooklyn's due date is, inconveniently, april 1st) because i'm indecisive and i panicked when i got my meager financial aid package from bc.

i plan on withdrawing from brooklyn and taking myself off the bu waitlist after i go to bc's open house on april 4th and make sure i love it enough to go into debt, which i'm pretty hopeful about. : )

4-8-08
BC it is! Fini.

coming from a BC undergrad - it is a beautiful campus in a beautiful area. The law school is located over at the Newton Campus which is about 1.5 miles away from the main campus. Chestnut Hill is awesome and so is the general school atmosphere. If you choose to go, enjoy the Heights! GREAT JOB - CONGRATS!!!

We do have very similar numbers -- congrats on BC! I'm hoping I'll get good news from them after my deferral. Good luck on Fordham too! Maybe we'll end up at the same place.

Thanks! I see you're still waiting on Cornell and American, but any idea of where you'll end up?

Thanks!

I received the offer via snail mail. Did you receive yours yet? With your #s, I would think that you would get at least a 32k offer. Good luck and congrats on BC!

I'm also leaning towards BC -- the more I learn about it, the more I like it. Yeah, Brooklyn's offer is quite nice -- it is a little hard to pass up big scholarships, but we'll see.
