3/28/11:
Just sent my email officially accepting my offer to IUB. It was a tough call, but I was VERY impressed at Spring Law Day and that made the difference. I also plan on doing Summer Start, which means I start in July.

3/14/11:
So I've decided to ride out this GULC waitlist. If I can get in I am definitely going to go. Wrote my LOCI and will put it into the mail today. I will also try to make it up the street and visit.

3/11/11:
Reg. waitlist at GULC, which is SHOCKING. I thought I had no shot!! In at Temple, no scholly info til the packet comes. Withdrew from Maryland.

3/1/11:
Ding at Hastings yesterday via snail mail. First ding of the cycle, but doesnt sting like I thought it would. I think knowing that I have some good options available makes me not care.

2/25/11:
WL at Miami via early morning email to check Cane ID. Obviously I withdrew. Acceptance packet came today from Santa Clara: $19K merit scholly. Not enough to knock off IUB or SJU, so I mailed my withdrawal letter today.

2/23/11:
WLed today at Fordham, so I withdrew. Also got into Santa Clara.

2/18/11:
Got my package from Indiana today. $120K divided over 3 years. Its definitely between SJU and IUB at this point, but a T30 with such a nice scholly is going to be HARD to pass up!!

2/10/11:
In at Maryland today via snail mail. No scholarship information in the package though.

2/2/11:
Got a Columbia fee waiver via email today so I blew $12 and sent off my app. As Caesar said, "Let the dice fly high!". And as my dad says' "Scared money dont make no money."

Also, got my GW packet today: no money as expected, but still devastating. I REALLY wanted to go to GWU, but I cannot afford to service my entire education in loans. I am very very very very upset.

1/27/11:
IN at GW today via email. Honestly, Im shocked. LSP said I was a solid DENY, so at best I thought I would get on the WL, but I am super excited about the possibility of staying here in DC.

1/24/11:
Found out I was held at Miami for further review, which is surprising. They say I should hear back before April 30th, but thats kind of late seeing that seat deposits for other schools are due by then. So I think I will just withdraw.

1/14/11:
Finally got some money so I sent off the rest of my apps, save for Pacific. I'll send that off later tonight. Also, added Georgetown (FT & PT) to my list. I have the fee waiver, so worst case scenario I get a much expected ding and lose my $12.

12/20/10:
Got into St. John's with a full scholarship. 90% chance that I'm going to go. My sister goes there and I love the campus. Im going to see what else happens in the cycle, but if I get rejected to every other school Im clear.

I just read your personal statement on TLS. You definitely deserve to get into a good school. I hope the adcomms see that. Good luck with your cycle!

Looks like we're applying to some of the same schools. Good luck!! I've heard from a bunch of the schools that getting your applications in early is the best thing you can do. LSAC sends updated reports everytime something new comes in (transcripts with better grades!).

Good luck on the LSAT
Wednesday, July 21 2010 at 08:00 PM

I see you hit 170 on a diagnostic test and have been placing around 166-167 otherwise. Just wanted to say that I was in the exact same position going into the June 2010 LSAT and got 170 exactly (which was my goal). My highest practice was a 173. Stay optimistic and keep working hard at it, there is hope for us splitters.

Good luck this weekend! :)

I busted my recommenders butts over the summer. They were all in before I even started applying. None of my applications will be complete until my LSAT score gets released though.

LSAT Retake
Monday, August 23 2010 at 08:00 PM

Go for it. If you PT'd higher it's worth a few hours of your time to do the best you possibly can. Law school admissions is SO competitive - every point helps. I am retaking.

How did you get into St. Johns?
Saturday, January 08 2011 at 07:00 PM

How did you get into that school? My gpa is not the best either, so any advice will help.

IUB

Definitely a good decision to apply there. It seems as though they're giving out scholarship money to applicants with 167+ Get that app out asap! :)

Good Luck This Cycle
Monday, March 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

I came across your profile and wanted to wish you good luck this cycle. In my opinion, with the combination of your very unique/challenging family background, work experience, and LSAT score, you'll get into most of the schools on your list. Also, why no application to Duke, Georgetown, Vandy, or WashU?

Good Luck!

As a fellow URM and watcher of anime, I bid you good luck on your cycle.

Congrats of GW
Monday, December 13 2010 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your GW acceptance! My cycle has been a little disappointing so far, however, it's still relatively early. Thanks for the positive thoughts ^_^

GL, Columbia
Tuesday, November 02 2010 at 08:00 PM

I'm applying to Columbia too. I probably won't get in unless it's by accident, but I think you have a legit shot. Good Luck.

Seriously Though
Saturday, November 27 2010 at 07:00 PM

Unless you get into some of the Top 20 schools you're waiting on (which is a possibility) Go to IUB. Seriously though.

GULC
Tuesday, May 04 2010 at 08:00 PM

I got an email telling me I was on the regular WL, which seriously surprised me. I really thought I was an auto-reject. I applied in mid-January on a whim/ Hopefully we both get in! ISK how much a cost-effective option that would be, but if I decide to pass on my scholarships and pay sticker, it may as well be there!

Tuesday, May 04 2010 at 08:00 PM

Whatever bruthaman. Feel free to take my spot at SJU. I dont want it. I have my reasons for picking IUB and I dont have to explain them to you.
