Additional info & updates

MA from NYU
Working at NYU School of Law

- (3/12) Still waiting on NYU and Penn. I should be an auto-reject - what's taking so long?

- (3/12) Forgot to update: waitlisted at Maryland, accepted at Temple (evening division), accepted at Villanova.

- (2/21) Received an email from Temple asking if I would consider an offer for the evening division if they could not offer admission to the day division. Answer: Yes!

- (2/6) Received acceptance packets from Drexel and UB. Drexel's offering 28,000 a year, full scholarship. UB didn't mention money, but there was a nice hand-written note on the letter.

- (2/6) Out at GW.

- (2/3) In at Drexel. No word on money yet - they did the same thing as UB, sent a congrats email before the acceptance letter arrived.

- (2/2) In at UB! Got an email from them congratulating me and saying that a student rep would be calling me in the next couple of weeks. The email sounded like they assumed I'd already received the admissions packet in the mail, which is not the case. I suppose it will be here soon enough. Excellent!

- (1/30) Rejected from American. Came in a regular thin envelope. Not at all surprised. Just glad to at least hear something from a school.

- (1/20) Emailed Temple about my app, they said it's been reviewed but a decision has not been made, and that I should hear by mid-March. I'm assuming that's essentially a deferral.

- (1/19) Waiting on Temple and Villanova, they seem likely to send something soon based on other LSN folks.

- (1/17) In at Rutgers-Newark, in large bulky envelope. Not my first choice, but good to have the first one out of the way.

Hey there - I had emailed them about one of my LORs and they mentioned it in their reply. Good luck to you too, we have a pretty similar profile.

You'll definitely get in at UB. Good luck on all the others! I went to NYU for undergrad, but didn't even bother applying with my stats. What is your master's in? If you get in at NYU Law, it will be awesome. Good luck!!

Haha, we are the opposite. I am finishing my master's at UB now and living right by elmwood (ashland). I also had an NYU law prof write me a letter of rec. Anyway, my UB acceptance came today in a big white envelope. I'm sure yours is on the way!

Did you get a scholarship at Temple? I'm torn between Loyola Chicago/USF at almost 30k each and U Buffalo, which is practically free! How did you make your decision? And congrats!!

I did visit all the schools, and I liked USF best. I only applied to schools in cities where my boyfriend can get a job because we plan on moving together. That's why USF or Loyola - he can easily transfer to San Fran or Chicago. Staying in Buffalo is our last choice, but for the money it is hard to pass it up. Especially since we would then be debt free when we do make the move to a major city, which would be nice. But waiting another 3-5 years to get out of Buffalo is not appealing. Oh well, thanks for the advice, and I hope you have an awesome time at Temple!

That's what I was thinking too - that Chicago is a lot cheaper to live in than SF. I'll be living through blizzard winters forever! Haha, well thanks again. Good luck at Temple =)
