Did Catholic notify you of waitlist by email or regular mail?

temple

Temple received my app on november 1, i think it was complete about 10 days to 2 weeks later. Complete: notified by email. Rejection--notified by regular mail

Do you know when about you either sent in the apps for duquesne and widener and/or when you went complete (if they even notified you that they were complete) i am waiting to hear about those two schools. thanks

Duquesne

quick Duq question...did they let you know when you went complete? All I got was a postcard dated 11/14/2005 which said that they had rec'd my app. I havne't heard anything else and am wondering why in the hell I haven't heard anything!

Hey mike, the HOFSTRA scholarship notification came w/ my decision letter - a big white envelope. -the Syracuse letter -- for an ABA sponsores scholarship-- was the 2nd in a series of letters (in big white envelopes) - the first one notifying me about financial aid. As far as the LSAT goes, I really didn't have time to study. I took the test with no preparation -- I couldn't prepare, I work around the clock. But I feel like I have lots more to offer schools (like my GPA -- I worked my ass off in undergrad and my experience as a newspaper reporter) Albeit, some schools won't see pass the LSAT, which is their loss!!! -- I'm just thankful that so far, Hofstra and Valpo were able to. Good luck to you man ....

Hey Mike, I didn't apply for the Dean's Scholarship -- the other scholarship app. was for an ABA sponsored scholarship. Thanks for the support!

ABA ...

Mike, the ABA (American Bar Association) scholarship is awarded every year to any student applying to any American ABA accredited law school. hope this helps...

Rutgers

I chose the option to be considered on factors besides numbers. I come from a disadvantaged background and that's what I wrote my essay on. Good luck with Rutgers!

Mike- You're like the 4th person to ask me to post information about Duquesne this week, I will go a head and do so tomorrow night/tuesday morning for everyone. In the meantime, it looks like you and I applied to a lot of the same schools and you're also from Jersey, where? Do you go to school there too? I see you went PT at SHU, any particular reason? I figured I might as well shoot for the stars with fulltime and the legacy thing I have going on there. Take it easy.

Rutgers

I'm not sure. I went to visit and I thought it was an amazing school. I got such a great feel for the school while I was there and everyone was more than helpful. I think it would be a good fit for me. However, they didn't offer me any money and I have none of it. Needless to say, cost and scholarships are definitely going to play a big part in my decision (unfortunately).

RE: hey bro
Friday, September 16 2005 at 08:00 PM

Mike, You'll see that I posted about Duquesne on my profile, I had an AMAZING time. I am from Jersey, yes, and I live in Chester (Mendham/Morristown area). Went to Newark A in Livingston for HS and I go to Clark University in Worcester, MA. Top choice is Seton Hall because of my family ties, and the great reputation the school has. However, that goal is becoming pretty unattainable... but we'll see. I strongly encourage you to get out there, if you have a car its like 6 hours away. As for Quinnipiac: Nice school, smaller, very student oriented and on the main campus. All the students seem really friendly with eachother, and they seem to be very involved in student activities. I know, that as a relatively newer school, they are trying to make a name for themselves and it is def. getting tougher to get in there. Hope this helps.

Mike, sorry to hear that your alma mater closed it's doors recently. My sister goes to St E's right near there actually, and my mom has an office in Florham Park. Small world huh? Anyways, good luck, hope it all works out and you get into RU. Keep me posted if you head out to Duq., totally worth it.

Pitt has skyscrapers, and looks like a regular city, but has tons of, i guess, little suburbs that are a part of the city. It's not a cab city though, that's for sure. You have to call ahead, it's like impossible to hail a cab, much like D.C.

Hey fellow Shuer ..... good luck on your apps! :-D

Rutgers
Monday, November 28 2005 at 07:00 PM

I graduated from Rutgers last year. I actually did a semester at Seton Hall... didn't like it there. Congrats on your acceptances so far, I'm keeping my fingers crossed on Rutgers, where is your first choice?

Time off
Monday, November 28 2005 at 07:00 PM

With my year off I got a solid job to pad my resume a bit. I took the LSAT again and improved my score a lot. I was rejected by Rutgers last cycle so I'm trying one more time... I think I have improved a lot since last cycle so we will see what happens. Rutgers is my first choice, but if that fails then I'm off to Pace. Good Luck!

Good luck!

Your app gives me some hope with FP, though I am nervous that I haven't heard anything yet! You should have NO problem at Q and Syracuse! Kepp in touch, we have a lot of the same schools... and CONGRATS on your success so far!

Damn
Sunday, December 04 2005 at 07:00 PM

Shit, you were waitlisted at Quinnipiac?! That does not bode well for me at all.

What?!
Wednesday, November 30 2005 at 07:00 PM

That is INSANE Mike! With your other great acceptances it shouldn't be a biggie, though. I really have no idea. I've been checking LSN a lot and it seems that the acceptances are all over the place. A lot of people with my numbers got into Albany and I was WLed, so, yea, I am confused too (and now even more nervous about FP). The only thing I can think of is Q's general perception as a very "white school"--I did a statement on how personal experiences could contribute to the diversity of the student body. Otherwise, i have no clue! I am sorry to hear about it though, you should hear los of other good things soon!

I have joined you on the waitlist @ Quinnipiac!

drexel

Yeah. I got an email. No mention of any scholarship. Just got another email from them expanding their description of the scholarship because other students were asking about it so, I guess if we weren't told in the acceptance email, we're not getting any money.

I just got a letter from them offering me 14k/yr if over a 3.0

Thank you
Thursday, December 22 2005 at 07:00 PM

Thanks so much for the info. Hopefully, I, too, will be positively shocked very soon. How high on your list is Pace? I imagine it is somewhere after Seton Hall and Rutgers, since you're in NJ. I wish you good luck with both of these school. Once again, thanks for the info. -law777

pace
Saturday, November 12 2005 at 07:00 PM

Congrats! Right now I'm leaning towards attending Pace mainly due to the fact that I would like to practice in NY. White Plains is also relatively close to my home, so I'm probably going to commute to save some $$. Do you think you will end up going to Duq? Pace?

Pace
Friday, February 03 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Pace, Im really hoping I get in of the waitlist too.

Decision?
Saturday, November 12 2005 at 07:00 PM

Hey - Where do you think you are going to go? I'm up in the air between Pace and Duquesne. Any insight?

Duq
Saturday, November 12 2005 at 07:00 PM

I'm still up in the air. I sent in my seat deposit for both Pace and Duq. I'm planning on visiting Duq. within the next month. Tough decision...

Pace
Saturday, November 12 2005 at 07:00 PM

Hey man, I'm most likely going to Pace. They have a pretty good alumni network plus I really want to practice in the NY area. Drop me a line.

Hey man
Sunday, February 05 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the note. Don't know much about our chances at Rutgers, but looking over this site doesn't give me too much hope. Sucks that despite our years of hard work in college, it looks like the LSAT is all that matters. Best of luck to you my friend!

SHU

Congrats on SHU. Any tips on how to get off the waitlists? You seem to have had some success. Im willing to try anything.
